Division I Career Points Leader, U.S. Gold Medalist Kylie Ohlmiller Retires
https://www.usalacrosse.com/magazine/professional/wll/division-i-career-points-leader-us-gold-medalist-kylie-ohlmiller-retires

"The time has come for me to step down from professional lacrosse," Ohlmiller said in a statement on social media. "While I wish my body could've given me more these last few years, I am immensely proud of the blood, sweat & tears it took to overcome obstacles greater than I could've ever imagined for my career."

Ohlmiller's rise was synonymous with the rise of Stony Brook. She produced 498 career points from 2015-18 and was a key part in lifting Stony Brook to its first-ever No. 1 national ranking while donning her signature eye black.

She was named an All-American attacker three times.

Ohlmiller was the first-overall pick by the Boston Storm of the now-defunct UWLX in 2018 and then the first-overall pick the following year by the New York Fight of the now-defunct WPLL.

In her first season of Athletes Unlimited in 2021, Ohlmiller ranked second in the league in goals (31). She then made the U.S. Women's National Team in 2022, winning a gold medal on home turf in the World Lacrosse Women's Championship.

Ohlmiller tore her ACL on July 7, 2022, during the world championship, though, leading to a 12-month comeback. She later re-injured her knee, further complicating her comeback.

In one of her final highlight-reel moments in a career filled with them, Ohlmiller scored in the first-ever goal in Women's Lacrosse League history at the 2025 WLL Championship Series, a sixes-style event, for the New York Charging.

i saw a lot more inside-out offense again.  it's opening up perimeter shots (though, NU's zone makes our shooting look a bit better than maybe it is).  18 assists helps.

i can live with 15 turnies IF you win the boards by a bunch (39-27), and at least we are taking chances with some tempo.

in the second- we really shut the door and expanded the lead (which is the opposite of our normal 2nd half).  great job SB!

in other news- CoC wins, W&M upsets UNCW, towson beats elon, NCAT upsets hof.  so thats mostly good news i think, but weve got a lot of traveling in the coming week.  maybe we move from 11th to 7th?

7
halftime 47-40 SB.  NU made a comeback.  it feels like dominance, but we are only up 7.

i love simmon off the bench, but he needs more minutes.

we have 12 assists already and it's halftime (half of that is Pratt).

monster half for Goods with a contested alleyoop.

8
great start for Goods (2 blocks).

NU moves the ball well.

NU switches to a 23 and shosh hits another.  and two more from simmon too.  and butler. 31-17 SB

9
NU zone is allowing Shosh to take wide open threes (he's 3/4).  and a layup too.

it's already 17-5 SB, on the road.

are they not scouting anymore?  trying to stop pratt with a 131?

Isabella Caporuscio, M, Stony Brook

Stony Brook graduated a handful of go-to talents after the 2024 season, leaving a need for a fresh face to take the impact player role. Caporuscio capitalized, showcasing her talents in every aspect. Caporuscio finished the season with 68 points (49G,19A), 52GB, 36CT and 82DC. The Pennsylvania native will look to lead the Seawolves to their fourth consecutive CAA title.

THIRD TEAM
M — Isabella Caporuscio, Stony Brook

i watched the replay late last night.  it's befuddling how bad we were over xmas break and now this week.

early, i saw a lot of inside-out bball.  most of which was initiated by pratt.  that opened up the perimeter, so shots fell.  maybe it's hipsher?

i didnt love the reliance on the 3, often right at the start of a possession.  i counted 13 attempts in the first 12 minutes.  fortunately, they landed, which is rare for us.  i wouldnt expect that again.  or should we?

i loved the hustle from Goods, particularly getting back into the paint to cover up two very large assignments.  he and pratt did a lot of everything tonight.  pratt was doubled a lot and still managed 39 points on 50 minutes (essentially two games, good ones at that).  FTs, defense, calming the team down when needed, etc.

we have depth this year and its helping.  id give butler more time, keep simmon coming off the bench to surprise teams, hope that o'connor can spell pratt, and find 3 more versions of Richard Goods.

a side note on officiating- its getting harder and harder.  i see more travels, lots of free hand play, some carries, and a lot of contact.  i applaud them for calling an even game.

maybe this was CoC's super bowl???

15
27 assists.

pass the ball!
