They were supposed to announce an interim president while they search for a permanent one

SBU has 4 Prospect Camps upcoming on the 19/20/26/27 and all of the top LI Players are supposed to be there. They plan on offering a scholarship to a QB for the 2025 Class

When JJ Lapp came out of HS I asked the question about asking him to be a PWO and SBU had no interest however in my opinion I think he could be a good Slot Receiver  so I wish him good luck in the NFL however there are many leagues now so he has other options

Hammer it’s always good to hear from you

Good information Campi. Looking forward to your insights again

With that out of the way. What did I miss??

1) Is there any news with SBU finding a new President yet?
2) What are the expectations for SBU football this season? Like Campi recently said. It would be best if you gave this young coach time before throwing him out to the wolves. He said the end of 2024, I think he needs 3 years before anybody bashes him.
3) How are we looking with recruiting, Are any good local players out of High School who got offered?
4) I don't know if you guys know anything about UDFA, JJ Lapp, WR for the LA Rams. He was a Cortland stud for 4 years and helped them win the D3 title. Sadly, coach Priore never gave this kid a shot. Lapp is friends with my son and they played throughout their football careers at Ward Melville. Let's keep our fingers crossed that he makes the 52-man roster at LA.

Wow!

Why is SBU making peanuts playing at Marshal university, but yet Albany is getting almost $150,000 more than SBU. Who negotiated this deal. SBU should he focusing more on playing FBS schools tht have a higher payout. Or play two FBS schools.

FCS teams take on the FBS more than 120 times in the 2024 season. These games come with guaranteed payouts for the visiting FCS programs.

West Virginia is a Power-5 opponent (or Power-4)

Marshall is not P5 so it wont pay as much

WVU and Marshall are leagues apart from a talent perspective.

If we wanted the most $$ we could have probably negotiated to be the bodybag game for Georgia, Clemson, someone like that... at a certain point you have to realize these games can wear your team down and ruin your own season if you go get killed by simply the highest bidder. Marshall is the kind of game we should be scheduling. Definitely an uphill climb, but winnable if we really have a great team one year. That's where we should be at.

strength of schedule will probably Be worse next year if you look at this schedule but if they can win 9 games they will make the playoffs. 8 wins will keep them out again if the teams they play are all under 500 like this year.
