On a football note, I love their LB AJ Robert’s PITT transfer. I believe he is gonna be special.....He will be real good, especially after missing all of last year. The depth at LB is impressive with Roberts, Ferrelli, Denicola, Novella, Chalmers...I believe the defense will be much improved.

Agreed. AJ Roberts has a high ceiling. He was all over the field at the spring game. He has a high motor and moves exceptionally well. I'm a fan!

the roster they handed out last night said otherwise as they were rostered with their assigned numbers and in pads/full uniform. I also talked to the kids on the field during the 4th quarter skills challenge, where fans, families, kids, etc… were aloud on the field to participate in different skills challenges (btw it’s confirmed I’m no good at kicking field goals) and they are in classes (15 credits each) etc… one semester down for them. SBU is following the FBS way of getting early enrollment for select current class kids (this was the case for Alex Menghi). Wyatt Cooper was the only grey shirt from the class of 23. All confirmed by the kids and their position coach last night. Now wether they red shirt this coming fall season is a whole other question and still unknown. On a football note, I love their LB AJ Robert’s PITT transfer. I believe he is gonna be special.

I just got the official word on the roster #12 is the QB Transfer from Georgetown he’s not listed and #36 has left the team. All the Freshmen for Class of 2024 and other Transfers who are not currently on campus are also not listed. The rest of the Roster is right.

Missing from the online roster is Georgetown QB transfer Tyler Knoop, Class of 23 Grey Shirt Freshman Wyatt Cooper and Class of 24 Early Admission Alex Menghi. All three have been on Campus and apart of everything since January between winter lifts and spring ball and all three will be present this evening. All confirmed by staff members.

Menghi tore his ACL midway through his senior year and is rehabbing right now and will more than likely redshirt.
Because this is a new coaching staff all positions are wide open so the Spring season should be very competitive

Not sure what that has to do with anything. There are injuries in Football. My point was that Cosh did a fantastic job retaining and recruiting.

Well they also have the Georgetown QB who transferred in to compete with Case (QB) along with Wyatt Cooper class of 23 grey shirt (TE) and Alex Menghi class of 24 early graduation (TE) who also enrolled for the current Spring Semester. This is in addition to whatever transfers they get (or loose) after Spring ball once the Portal opens back up for the start of the season. Either way, they did not loose much and have some nice additions. Time will tell. What is funny is if you read back a few people were bashing Stony Brook saying everyone was gonna leave in the portal, how are they going to field a team, how can they recruit, etc... not only did they retain Menghi (number one ranked Tight End in NY) and get him in early, they got a 3 star QB out of South Carolina, one of the top LB's in NJ, one of LI's most dominant players ever in Sebastian Regis, etc... looks like Cosh did a fantastic job retaining AND recruiting (wether they are Priore recruits or new recruits). Very impressed with Cosh thus far, but the W/L record will determine

I am new to this forum. Hello all! I am just a fan of Football on Long Island. I am hearing many different names for the next possible head coach, one of them is not their current OC. However, I wouldn't be surprised if it is him... Nunzio from Syracuse had an interview from what I was told but opted to stay with Syracuse with their new head coaching hire (Fran Brown). Word on the street was that he had the job. But we'll never know. Again, rumor mills... I also heard that Coach Jackson from WV and Coach Hemphill from Duke are strong candidates. Having said that, they should announce someone soon. The transfer portal is out of control. Yes, they might loose key players, however there are thousands that entered the portal looking for a new home.
