SBU adds 2 PWO’s in Johnny Russo SB/KR from St. Anthony’s HS and Malachi Collins a big OT from Elmont Memorial HS

Thought PWO's were done with and SB opted into that 105 scholarship deal.

I think Freeman either signed with UCONN or Temple
I doubt if Regis or anyone else will return who entered the Portal however I never say never

Regis must be back, as I saw pics SB football posted and he was there, as well as AJ Roberts.

Does anyone expect any changes on offense and/or defense?

Does anyone think there will be changes on offense/defense this week against Towson?

5
SB -6.5 versus Merrimack...Thoughts?

They were favored last week.

I know, and that didn't turn out very good. Merrimack QB plays the same way as Lindenwood's. Fast, athletic and dual threat,

Cowboy 22 I think you said that the LB’s are awful well I was just looking at the SBU Stats Through game 4 and the LB’s are 4 of the top 5 Ferrell 34, Kaler 29, Chalmers 24, Bryson 21 and Roberts 19 so my point is they’re not the problem. Now if you said that the Schemes that the DC are putting them in are wrong I would agree but the players are not the problem. As far as the Secondary goes they don’t stink however they seem to be late to their assignments and when these fast tempo offenses are moving they have to be in position earlier. This is just my opinion

You're entitled to your opinion. But stats are over-rated and raking up tackles at LB is common practice in football, no matter what level.

it was a bad loss yesterday maybe one of the worst for sb football. we had not heard of them before the schedule came out and I think they thought it would be a easy win.

why does sb still have football?

It was a bad loss...no other way around it. I don't believe in the betting lines, as they are not always accurate, but when you are ranked in the preseason top 25 and favored on the road against non-conference Lindenwood, you should win and do it comfortably. Doesn't matter the improvement in the second half. The front seven is very good against the run, LBs awful against the pass and the secondary stinks against the pass. Don't get me started about the coordinators.

Cosh's postgame CAA presser is tiresome. Get back to basics, fundamentals. Just say, we need to make changes on both sides of the ball. We need to call better plays on offense and defense, and we need to sub more and change things up a little.

11
The defense isn't good and the exhaustion sets in. Not a single sub at LB and they play the whole game, even special teams. The secondary is dreadful. To reach the 8-win mark again, SB has to go 7-1. It's not gonna happen.

12
The football team looks unprepared. 45 yards for penalties. Was stony brook favored?

Yes, between 3  to 5, depending on when you got the line.

13
Where is AJ Roberts playing on defense now? Is he one of the hybrid lb safety positions?

SB is playing 3 ILBS (Kaler, Ferrelli and Roberts) and 1 OLB (Chalmers). On passing downs, Kaler comes off and another CB/Safety/OLB comes in.

159 points in the last 4 games, dating back to last season. 73 allowed this year. Defense can't stop anyone, no rotation, and many of the same players play special teams and never come off the field. Exhaustion in the 4th qtr is obvious. Dempster and Zelous are great options in the run game, but with the depth and talent at wide receiver, this is a crime...Dietz, Williams, Freeman, Flood-Brown, Lamarre, Bunicci....I don't want to hear about the conditions and that prevented passing plays. Rhode Island seemed to have no issue....316 yards and 2 Tds...

And how about some praise for DE Franco Milano....he was the only D-linemen that Cosh didn't mention in his CAA interview
