Even with the new coaches this program apparently hasn't learned from the past and still changing players positions to something that is completely not what they are built for. It will be the same losing grind, shame.
PLUS if they kept a useless individual who is basically a fraud in every right to stay on in any capacity again is a sign that this program is not serious about making change.  Get ready for another 0-12 boys lol

Reserved tickets for the Coach Meet and Greet with Coach Cosh. Includes 2 free tickets to the Hofstra game afterwards. Only 100 available.

Sad that they have to hang a carrot to get people to come and attend. I'm betting it will still be a small group with the free ticket offer and beer and wine lol.

The early NSD ended today and while coaches can continue to call and text players they can’t visit them or have them on campus until January 11 however I’m not sure if that effects players in the portal
No it doesn't, High school only.

I saw the last few days that recruits posted on X that after a phone call with Bache and Martino they were offered by SBU. It might be true that they been let go but some of them are still  working
Who is Bache and Martino??

I'm sorry to be negative but any player to commit here as a PWO is either disillusioned, had the Hatch spell cast on him or has been deaf and blind to the last two disastrous seasons that this program has had and the current state it's in. A clear sign is in the full scholarship kids RAN from this program. They unfortunately will run away one day also once they experience the depressive atmosphere of SBU. The older players that come here are only coming for a paid grad program and such and are not going to be much help as they know SBU's history. Eg. CASE. It's going to be years before this program (if it lasts) recovers.

I disagree with almost all of this. A PWO is getting preferred admissions to 58th ranked university in the country. That's a very a good reason to accept PWO offer.

I very much disagree with the notion that full scholarship kids 'RAN' from the program. I actually think there's been very little roster turnover considering the program just went through a coaching change. Look at how many transfers Albany is losing despite going to the semifinals or how much talent Merrimack is losing with their coach moving onto Holy Cross.
You have every right to disagree but players are exactly that PLAYERS and want to play on a good program. SBU failed all these players in every way as a program. I stick to my position, SBU should drop down to D3 or buy into D1 100% and run it as such. Look at there website....Minimal effort. Look at the touch down club.....minimal effort. Look at the president in her support of Athletic....actually less than minimal effort. Helibron...minimal effort. Cosh has to has a lot of energy and vision to turn this program around and hopefully has the backing and support of the University, but by President McInnis's absence at his introduction speaks volumes that he doesn't.

i was a lot of schools getting transfer kids this week all over the country. SB hasnt had any. if the coachs have been let go who would be working on this? just Cosh? yikes. if so more time passing with nothing happening. maybe they have already written off next season.
That's a very good point!!

Its been a week and they havent announced any coaching hires.
Well..... They took how long to find this young inexperienced coach, so who is going to come work under him?? I believe the full crisis this program is to face is yet to be seen. They need an AD who is known and respected and coaches want to work under, no well experienced coach is coming to work under Helibron and an unknown HC. These are my opinions, I hope I'm wrong for all the athletes sake.

Actually I called his coach last night and he has a very high GPA so he gets a lot of money for his grades however even without getting a scholarship if he chose SBU he would only have to pay for Room & Board plus Books. I would love to get this kid because he’s a great person and a very good athlete and with the right coach in my opinion would definitely become a scholarship player
I love your enthusiasm for the program and it must be tough to maintain that position based on recent years. But any player that comes here as a PWO when they can walk on at any school,  they really are cheating themselves. Full scholarship players ran from this train wreck of a program. If Cosh keeps ONE person from the staff then it will very get a fresh start. The only people who should be around Cosh is the janitor to show him the light switches

The AD is still here though and that is the problem.
Maybe if he stays it’s a relaunch and if he goes it’s a rebuild.
A train without an engineer and a train with Helibron at the controls both will result in a train wreck.
Is a real shame that the president is such a liberal only concerned with the agenda of the State. She should be relieved immediately based on her failure as a president to ensure the Athletics dept is ran competently.  Hate to make it political, but at the end of the day that's what is running SBU. As said before by many, the inside deals and extensions need to be investigated for proper procedure and legality because that is why this program is in the state it's in

Enjoy an empty stadium and arena with tiny ticket sales.

Name some FCS with NIL deals?  We can’t fill half the stadium right now, NIL deals for us is a pipe dream.  Let’s take local talent build a fan base, and  relationships. Now we are winning games our name is out there, we can go get those goood out of state kids.  Eventually we  will grow and maybe  that move to FBS becomes a reality.

With all due respect. Can I have what you are smoking please!! This university will never go FBS..
I meant to hit AGREE!! This school can't even handle where it's at now.

I would love to be there when Hatch does his walk of shame out the door. That guy isn't even a Coach, he has really no purpose at SBU other than to drop smoke bombs around the program and make it appear it's a great place to come and play at.
Hopefully this guy recognizes the fraud the staff here are and cleans it all out. You can't rebuild a building on a bad foundation. Clean it all out, from the trainers up.

I know they cant raise any money but sb has a nil for basketball and lacrosse which is strange. wouldnt now be a good time to have a nil for football or because they cant rais money do they just forget it?
No booster or anyone is going to invest in this team or players. This place is a dead end.
