This is Priore like futility- haven’t seen a record like this since the mid-2000s when the team barely could draw in the early Pikiell years when he was rebuilding.

Like the successful football reboot it’s time for change in the hoops program. I’ve never been a Ford fan personally but his weaknesses are even more obvious in this transfer portal era where coaching is even more valuable.

Ugh I jinxed it- tough loss. UNH is always a well coached team

Ugly win but a wins a win. I'll take any win over what we had to suffer under Priore. I'm sure if anybody told you that SBU would be 7-2 at the end of last year would tell you were smoking something potent.

Onto Albany.

Listen guys, why are we talking about Cosh moving on? The folks who have moved on from the CAA had multiple years of success at this level- Cignetti had multiple years in the CAA (and eventually the Sun Belt when JMU went DI) prior to getting poached by Indiana. Ferrante has been at Nova since 2016 and has had tons of success. There aren't a ton of high level places worth going to- the smaller FBS programs aren't exactly a huge step up. As we learned from Priore's contract, you can have a pretty solid contract at SBU.

The usual suspect Debbie Downers seem to be missing this year

What an amazing turnaround this season has been. Let's keep it going- would be amazing to see a playoff berth this year given how bad this team has been the last few years.

6
As a whole, this is another indictment of this program sticking with Priore for so long

Cosh hasn't even had time to recruit his players fully and this offense is better than any SBU offense in 15 years.

This win was another reflection of how far the program had fallen under Priore. This same Fordham teach would have won by 3 TDs

Impressive what Cosh has done in such a short time. Marshall still has some work to do but he's been a lot of fun to watch

Nice win. Stonehill is still a DI team with 5 wins last year which was still better than SBU. Don't see any reason to put an asterisk on this game particularly for a Stony Brook team that was winless last year. No need to be a Debbie Downer

A lot of the Stonehill yardage came in garbage time. Let's see how the rest of the year goes. Still feel much more positive of the future of this program

Looking forward to this game

However, its still a massive screw-up that the administrators in the CAA were so tethered to FloSports. I really can't justify paying for it again- quality is crap.

This forum is toxic as hell- this place isn't a good judge of overall sentiment. Yes there are diehards here but I'm pretty sure the **** fans aren't super engaged here

Marshall is a solid team, no shame in losing to them in the first game of a rebuild. Onto Stonehill

Chuck didn’t want Laube and never offered him

That is right and look how it turned out.

Lawton was solid but it's a pretty big indictment that a FCS kid from Long Island got drafted and didn't even get offered by SBU

Excited to see the future of this program with a competent HC and recruiter

This team could be significantly better than it was last year- great job by Geno.

If the team does well, I think a good chunk of these guys could be multiyear players for us.

I'm super late to the party but very proud of Dylan Laube being drafted last weekend

His only DI offer was UNH- not that it matters anymore and I do not want to relitigate the past but another example of how poor Priore was in working with local LI coaches and identifying high level talent in our backyard.

Cosh has given this program an injection of energy. Priore had no idea how to connect with the community so this is a breath of fresh air. Very excited for the season

After football, men’s lacrosse is the biggest disappointment at SBU. It’s embarrassing at 4-9 that they even had a chance for the conference tourney. I don’t know how long Gilardi’s contract goes but he should be on the hot seat. Another underperformance like this cannot be tolerated.
