All the SBU transfers that signed are from the Portal and there will be some however now they will concentrate on HS Players until NSD next month after that look for more FBS transfers

SBU has two players with LI ties transfer in that I know of, Cam Urso LB formerly of St. Anthony’s and Jack Melore WR formerly of Smithtown West with many others to come

The Transfer Portal is crazy Miami University just offered a QB that was at Alabama and was considering entering the NFL Draft to play his redshirt year there and they’re willing to pay him $6.4 Million Dollars for one season.
Just looking at the SBU 2025 Roster and knowing who’s graduating plus the players who have entered the Portal there could be as many as 45 new faces this upcoming season

SBU has hired a new OL Coach Will Ahrens who comes over from Western Michigan where Cosh came from

With the Portal officially opened SBU offered around 30 Players and many of them plan on visiting the campus shortly

With the calendar officially turning to 2026 it's time to start posting about what to expect so here is my take
We will be playing 12 games again however only 5 will be home with 7 being played on the road
From last year's roster we lose around 40+ players between graduation and transfer portal
Any coaching changes to Cosh's staff probably not take place until the early part of the year
The 2026 Class is very good so far and I expect the remainder of the class will be very good too
The CAA is weaker compared to previous years and still not sure if Elon and Campbell are going to leave

The NCAA or Congress has to do something about the Transfer Portal today I learned that when Iowa State HC Matt Campbell left to take the Penn State HC Job a number of his players also are planning to enter the portal leaving their program with 17 players and only one was a starter. I’m a regular follower and contributor on X and I see at least 25-40 players announcing their intentions to enter the portal in January every day.

I was at the Suffolk County Awards Night yesterday and I was told that Regis is heading to JMU once he enters the Portal next month
