Campi. Coach Thompson is not taking the same position. He is now the ST analyst at WVU. But good for him. He was a great asset while he was here

Fields and the Offense is CURRENTLY (in the CAA) LAST in Offense; LAST in passing; and LAST in Passing Efficiency(and 2019 was not that much better) But sure as some try and point out he's "way better" than JC (who Fields could NEVER beat out in the past) and overall holds the 3 best QB stats career wise at SBU.

Just came back on the board to see whats up after being away awhile and our son graduating, and in looking over the team.  I dont know what the big deal is honestly. Chairman (and the rest of the group) have been fairly positive the years our son played as a 4 yr starter and even we've had parents who've tried to position their son (we know who that was) in a starting role, and others were just very hard on the playing time (or lack thereof). The Bottom Line IF you are one of the lucky ones who manage to get a full ride (and BTW- students ARE IN FACT PAID- look at the stipends). Our son has been working since he finished his Masters is and now engaged to the young lady he met while at SBU so to us all is good!  But, maybe in the NEXT COVID "relief" bill, Cuomo should ask for some "coaching monies"

Its kind of sad, that when we all keep on talking about how great the defense is hardly anyone addresses the awesome job Tony Thompson from the special teams side on the punt scheme on punts and FG's blocked and how we generally play a great position game when we have to pin our opponents inside the 20 when we cant make a long FG.

“I've done a poor job,” he said, according to 24/7 Sports. “The buck stops with me.” Wanna take a guess who said this and who DIDN'T? and who no doubt will be gone fairly soon?

I think one of the best players today thats helped OUR team is the UA punter!  Just poor but he's helped us a lot especially on his last slow to the ball punt! Hope TT continues to put pressure on him and block some more

well. We got a half to go, but wondering if Coach P would finally decide on his own that he is no longer the coach to take this program to the next level and resign. I would be surprised if we did not see some of the players head to the Transfer Portal quicker than our commuter students head out of campus on a weekend

why not put Jack C in? Coach P said it was a fairly close contest between the two of them. He's only played in half the games

These discussions kind of remind me of the movie Groundhog Day with Bill Murray. Year after year we come on here bemoaning the overall place our team has gone and am sure if we just cut and pasted forum posts from the past- we'll all be able to see the same resounding theme (who wants to guess what that is?).

We complain about a true WO (Carbone) who came into the program as a WO but the "crack staff" back in 2013/2014 could not recruit a Scholarship QB in all of the country-or even in the Tri-State area (and let's not forget the whole QB with CB and John Kinder craziness). We then offer two QB"s and it takes them 2-3 yrs to get into the "groove" while other true Freshman QB's in the CAA and throughout the US start for much bigger programs with more diverse offenses. But no doubt just as in Ground Hog Day we all wake up on Sunday morning thinking the next game will be different. Oh well- hey maybe SH can bring in Bill Murray for OC-no doubt it will be different then with our current HC.

Just wondering since it does seem that others here just cant let it go. Our grandchild is only three so just want to make sure we'll be bashing the THIRD best QB (from a stats area) we've had when he's at SBU. No doubt Fields is the savior (even though the past two yrs he could not remember the play calls).

He's playing for his Father at Morgan State as a Graduate Transfer.

Hmmm. 2/75 Army Combat Ranger (OUF83)  and you? Oh and btw- its since been taken down, but clearly I expect you to wear it along with your pig socks all next season at the Lavalle home games.

well maybe if you and your family were in LAW ENFORCEMENT it WOULD matter- but cool answer to the shirt of "IF YA SEE THE POLICE WB- Warn a Brother". No doubt you support the pig socks as well. Looking forward to seeing them all over Lavalle Stadium next season.

Classless Tweet (and RT) from this new "commit" Brinson showing himself along with his father and TWO SBU football coaches wearing a shirt that puts a bad light on the Police. No doubt he has more than ONE shirt to wear? Wonder if Coach P will address this- but am guessing not.

well clearly you don't know who I am but SH does VERY well! As a matter of fact we've had GREAT conversations over the years BOTH in person and on follow-up emails, and BOTH positive and negative AS HAVE OTHER PLAYERS PARENTS. I know for instance this past week about 10 of the seniors parents engaged with SH on "things to improve upon" and SH takes all our comments as he should as the AD.

And yes, as LATE as last Friday night at the hotel when we drove all the way down to the game, we had a very good conversation. Coach P certainly knows my feelings, as does our son's position coach and was a four year starter.  I don't have hide behind ANY keyboard or come out on NSD. The $$$ we gave to the school and Coach K knows us quite well. The fan forum should be a tool used to provide BOTH positive and negative comments, and yes thoughts as to how things are going.

The sad part I bet is that the "marketing" gurus on SBU football don't come on here to see how the "customers" feel.. Maybe if the coaches and marketing folks get more "engaged" with the players and fans this board may not be the only place folks can engage.
