Wow, I thought we were all on the Fields' bandwagon.  sounds like he has not developed as expected.  one has to wonder if this coaching staff has the skill set to develop QBs in the first place.

those comments about Carbone and his timing being off, and holding the ball too long, sound just like last season when he was our starter.  what's changed???? time for Fields to step up and take this QB starting job.  it cant get much worse from a QB performance standpoint than last season.  what did he have?  5 TDs and 12 INTs?

oh no, here we go again: "coach P says we will have two starting QBs".  this is just plain nuts.  we tried that two years ago with Bednarski and Carbonne, that approach just sucked.  but P is talking about doing it again.  Hammer????

those are all good games.  I just hope this team is up to it and we get some very good QB play happening this season.

first of all, who cares how Carbone played in a spring scrimmage.  Carbone sucked last season, you cant put a bow on a pig.  statistically speaking, Carbone had one of the worst seasons that I have ever seen of a QB, certainly for a starting QB at the college level.  what's more to see with him.  as long as Fields can learn the playbook, he's got to get a shot.

I'm sure sad to see that extension take place, but this was probably a factor too: "Stony Brook, which has won at least five games in each of Priore's eight seasons, also has produced success in the classroom. In its final two seasons in the Big South Conference, Stony Brook garnered an award from the FCS Athletics Directors Association for having the conference's highest Academic Progress Rate (APR)."

they should also decide who the starting QB is coming out of spring ball.  in past years, P has dragged this decision out into the summer.  we know what Carbonne brings to the table, if Fields is superior in the spring, then he is the guy.

we cant afford another year of Carbone at the helm.  we heard the same BS last spring, that Joe had improved mightily in the offseason, only to see him regress from 2015.  this coaching staff better get their $hit together and learn that SB has to successfully throw the ball to be a contender.  last year is a perfect example of the Offense leaning too heavily on the run game because we had no passing attack.  I suggest they name Fields the starter after Spring ball, and let him take the majority of snaps in the summer.  what do we have to lose?  we cant afford a repeat of 2016.  but with that said, P loves to get in the heads of his QBs and mess with them.  we've seen that for the past 3 or 4 years.

well the coaching staff is going to have to be open minded about doing something different on offense.  this season was a dramatic example of how you can not win games in the CAA with a purely running game approach.  you need a competent QB to throw the ball also.  we had better hope that our RS FRosh QB is the real deal, or we are dead meat once again.  and don't give me that BS that we need a kid at QB that can run the option.  Carbone could do that, but he could not throw, and at the end of the day, the lack of a credible passing game sunk our season.  come on, Carbone stats, 3 TDs, 12 Interceptions.  I have never seen that before.

carbone is done at SBU.  he painfully showed us this year that he is not D1 material. the only hope is the RS freshman.  and with that said, I suggest they recruit a JC transfer at QB, just in case.  cuz we cant afford to have Carbone as the back up QB.

here is a novel thought on how to get more people to the games:  win Games, especially home games.

take a look at how SB did at home this season: 3-3.  only one of those wins was exciting, the blow out win of Richmond.  the rest of the home games, see below

September 1 season opener against ND:  a real real real boring game, but we won 13-9
September 17 against Richmond:  the best game of the season for our team, we won big time.
September 24 against Sacred Heart:  blow out loss 39-10.  boring offense once again
October 15 against Rhode Island:  if ever there was a chance to get a big offensive win, this was it.  FAIL: 14-3 win
November 5 against William and Mary:  another boring offensive performance, and a loss 14-9
November 12 against Main:  at least the offense scored a few time, but we lost again 27-21 AFTER falling behind 27-0

look folks the product stinks, that's why no one attends the games.  and that goes back to the coaching and recruiting staff.  Make some changes.

I guess that Shawn is not planning to fire P this winter.  if he was, I am sure we would have heard about it by now.

this coaching staff and the play calling is wrecking Bedell.  he is a player that plays best in space, not running between the tackles.  sort of like Reggie Bush.  they need to run him wide, and get him short passes out of the backfield.  two seasons in a row, he ends the season on the bench injured.  that is overuse for one thing, misuse is another.  run Liotine up the middle, or Gowins.  we don't throw to tight ends or running backs, never.  to say that our offense is one dimensional is a vast understatement.  even with two new offensive coaches, the O looked the same as it did under Coach P.  What???  how can that be.??
