Stony Brook will never return to AE....and if AE ever sponsors football (not likely).....no way the CAA allows Stony Brook to join AE for football only.  Either SB moves up to FBS or stays with future rivals Hampton, Campbell and NC A&T in the CAA.

WBB loses at home to UMass-Lowell tonight.

First post in 7 years on this website from some guy with a Maine username. Stay off our turf, buddy, you don’t have good intentions.

Oh Jeff is well known.. he goes around every college forum you can find out there and leaves cheeky, disrespectful comments. He wants to see every AE team that has left for CAA to miserably fail and come back to AE with tail between legs. Has been hating on Delaware, Hofstra, Towson, Drexel, Northeastern for the last two decades. Now Stony Brook is added to his wrath list.

Actually I don't really are about 4 of those 5.....but you are right that I do hate Delaware.

Regarding all of your teams losing because of the AE tourney ban.....LAME EXCUSE.  Didn't seem like your women's basketball team was down in the dumps when they were up by 16 today....seems like they just blew it.

Thank you for the update Jeff. Btw our men are on a 22-0 winning streak vs Maine. Hasn’t lost since 2011. Should we make this an annual OOC game?

Albany....Ouch.

JUCO Jackson Miller has committed to Stony Brook.

There's plenty of stuff about your recruits on social media......why aren't we posting this on the recruiting thread???  Head over there and I'll give you the name of a commit that you guys got today......you'll have to find the rest for yourselves. ;)

Stony Brook is still the favorite to win it all in the end as far as I'm concerned.  Until the final out is recorded.........fear the Wolf! ;)

Yes.......Stony Brook should move up to the one bid, 16 seeded CAA as soon as they can.  5 post-season bids from AE vs. 3 from the CAA.  The CAA will be a super terrific conference without GMU and JMU......

Northeastern
Hofstra
Drexel
Delaware
Towson
W&M
UNCW
C of C

What a group!  That is gonna be one powerhouse of a conference.........kinda looks like AE 1.0 though.

Just to clarify (or confuse) some more...if you notice, the other person in the conversation is a female!!  I don't think she's the one talking about not signing a NLI.  Therefore, I'll stick to my original story (i.e. that Braley is the one indicating that he's probably coming to SBU).  But, in any event, I'm with all of you--excited to see what happens over the next couple of months.

You were right.  Congrats!

Twitter is conversation is always confusing to me. So I guess its the other person who is going to SBU. I saw his name infront of the quote.. Anyway, still long time for bb signing.. tomorow is FB signing. Can't wait.

Same here.........I had to go back and read it multiple times and still am not 100% certain.  Who knows where he ends up......we 'll see.

Agreed........excited for Signing Day tomorrow!

Some potential good news!!

I just came across some current Twitter traffic in which Chris Braley was asked where he was going to attend college.  His answer was that he wasn'r signing an NLI, so "...he had some more time to decide..., but for now it looked like SBU".

I think he would be a great fit.  How about you guys?  GO Seawolves!!

Not to rain on your parade and I might be wrong.........but you may want to expand on that Twitter conversation as it was the other person saying that (I think).............

No.. it was his own quote, "@CB_Hoops23 not positive yet. im not signing an NLI so I still have time. but right now its looking like SBU".

Unless he gets an offer from a better program from another conference, it would be SBU if he decides on AE.

Welcome to the SBU board Jeff... you are quite popular out there on other message boards (caazone, AE, AGS) :) I am glad you have made it here.

I guess you are right, that there is ALWAYS going to be more noise from the southern CAA fans. Looking forward to our football trip to Orono.

Its good that there are 4 current AE brethrens in CAA football now.

Popular to some........infamous to others.

Thanks for the "welcome"!.

Reading other boards, it seems our CAA rivals, especially, southern teams like Towson, JMU and Richmond are doing a good job recruiting this year, while the northern teams UNH, Maine and Albany have been slow. We will find out on Wednesday, but I feel like our our main challeges are going to be those three from the south along with UD and Nova, although we dont play UD this year.

Not sure where you are getting your info but Maine's recruiting is going well.........up to 14 commitments by my count.  You will ALWAYS hear more about the Southern CAA football recruits because there is just more info out there (sites, message boards, fans, etc).  From what I have seen..........looks like Albany, Maine, Richmond, Delaware, Nova and SBU are doing well.  JMU, UNH and W&M seem a little down as far as commitments go........but guys commit right up until Signing Day.  It's not over until the fat lady sings!
