hosting brown, end of first 5-1 bruno.  we are making some bad decisions with the ball, taking bad shots, forcing passes inside, penalties, mental errors, losing GBs, etc.

brown is passing the ball well and creating offense.  and on defense, is pressing way out of the box.  we dont look great.

lowd, as usual, is making plays all over the field.

FLO really needs to work on their product.

8-4 bruno at half.  more mental errors.  no ball movement on offense.  too many flags.  playing too much defense.

despite the score, defense is playing as best they can considering brown's quickness, EMO, and we have no real possessions on offense.

in other news, EMD continues to do well.  we did cut the lead back a bit.

end of 3rd, 11-9 bruno.

terrible shot selection.  still settling for poor shots and forcing passes into the crease.  nevertheless, we've held onto the ball a bit more.  and shifted the momentum.  and caught up some with an 8-1 run.

jamo's outlets have been great today.  conlon may be injured.  smith won some draws and scored his first.  anderson nice hidden ball trick.

brown is working the shorts up top and we can't keep up, but team D is improving.

also brown is sitting their star player, FWIW.

final 17-12 brown.

brown went on their own run.  still just too many flags for SB to overcome.  it wasnt really over until about 10min left.  SOG% continues to be a problem.

EMD is really good this year.  i also thought that button made some plays, the kinda stuff that doesnt show up in the stats.

monmouth and drexel win; fairfield hof and del lose.

halftime at providence, down 5-4.  jamo and lowd playing great.  rain/snow affecting sticks.  mitchell taking draws, conk starting for desano.

lost 9-8 in OT.  it shouldnt even have gone to OT as the refs took away an obvious PC goal.

Lots of good things to take from St. John's game, still some stuff that needs work.

Shots on goal and clears were two problems SB faced. Give credit to St. John's defense, which despite allowing 18 goals, is the best thing about their team. Too bad their shooting is even worse than SB's.

Faceoffs even without Conlon were excellent, as St. John's ran a long stick out there every time. Mitchell 22-27, can't do much better than that.

No violations equal no free man-ups. Neither team got into that kind of trouble, which means they must be learning. That's why SB was man-down so much vs Brown. New rule dictates a man-up after three face-off violations in a half.

Three freshmen get on the board, Carlo, Kraemer and Dechiaro, 10 different Seawolves score.

St. John's misses Huber badly. He scored 5 against SB last year for them, he puts in three against them this year.

Pallonetti 4 goals and 3 assists. He did it all.

Looks like the CAA and America East are on fairly equal footing, and Delaware dropped out of the rankings this week, so the Seawolves have an opportunity here.

But they beat a bad St. John's team like they were supposed to. Hampton is another should-win. Good thing about the rest of the schedule is that there is nobody significantly better than the Seawolves. Every game is winnable. The Towson-Drexel-Delaware stretch will show us what kind of team we have.
We're still here! Seawolves men's and women's lacrosse, baseball and softball on WUSB-FM. We talk about it every week on the Sports Section Sundays 10 pm-midnight.

Hampton is such a joke. Between the awful Posecki basketball commentary and now not having live stats or streams for lacrosse, I really hate that they got accepted into the CAA. Some may say we're not in a position to judge, but of all the new additions, we're clearly the best brand. And I hate what Hampton is doing.
