Lots of good things to take from St. John's game, still some stuff that needs work.

Shots on goal and clears were two problems SB faced. Give credit to St. John's defense, which despite allowing 18 goals, is the best thing about their team. Too bad their shooting is even worse than SB's.

Faceoffs even without Conlon were excellent, as St. John's ran a long stick out there every time. Mitchell 22-27, can't do much better than that.

No violations equal no free man-ups. Neither team got into that kind of trouble, which means they must be learning. That's why SB was man-down so much vs Brown. New rule dictates a man-up after three face-off violations in a half.

Three freshmen get on the board, Carlo, Kraemer and Dechiaro, 10 different Seawolves score.

St. John's misses Huber badly. He scored 5 against SB last year for them, he puts in three against them this year.

Pallonetti 4 goals and 3 assists. He did it all.

Looks like the CAA and America East are on fairly equal footing, and Delaware dropped out of the rankings this week, so the Seawolves have an opportunity here.

But they beat a bad St. John's team like they were supposed to. Hampton is another should-win. Good thing about the rest of the schedule is that there is nobody significantly better than the Seawolves. Every game is winnable. The Towson-Drexel-Delaware stretch will show us what kind of team we have.
