not much analysis, but sharing as it passes time until the season starts... https://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/2022-every-men-s-di-team-in-one-sentence/58786

Quote
Stony Brook (8-6)
There are still several years of the Dylan Pallonetti era, and add in Kevin Mack behind the net plus contributors from last year and some more transfers, and Stony Brook again is competing in that top tier of the America East.

Excited to see what's in store for this 2022 team. Lot of new faces and sort of a different looking group from what I can tell. Will definitely be weird not seeing some of those familiar faces we've been accustomed to seeing the past 4-5 seasons. I am expecting big things from the known commodities in Mccannell, White and Anderson with Pallonnetti doing his thing on the attack. Defense will be an area of concern I think but hopefully another stellar year from the offense can help mask those issues a little bit.

With Stony Brooks move to the CAA, the AE has taken away the rights for the 2022 team to compete for the AE conference tournament.

thanks- great content, keep it coming.

sounds like the offense is outpacing the defense, and otherwise williams will start on defense and our defensive midfield looks good.

unclear whether ryan pallonetti is not eligible... he is on the roster though.

Ineligible for Conference Tournament, Stony Brook Men Staying Upbeat
https://www.usalaxmagazine.com/college/men/ineligible-for-conference-tournament-stony-brook-men-staying-upbeat

Quote
“One of the lessons from that COVID year is we’re still playing,” Gilardi said. “We’re still practicing. We’re still together as a family. Those are the most important things. We have an opportunity every day to compete against each other and on Saturdays to compete against somebody else as a Stony Brook lacrosse family.”

The America East’s decision doesn’t prevent Stony Brook from earning an NCAA at-large berth, but realistically it leaves the Seawolves with little margin for error. Stony Brook, which went 8-6 last year, has notable home games against Rutgers (March 5) and Syracuse (March 19) next month.

“The culture is in place better,” Gilardi said. “The older guys know the expectation. They’re teaching the culture and the expectations to the younger guys. I think that’s where we’ve seen the most growth. Obviously, we have a lot of new faces and brought in a lot of transfers and freshmen, and those guys have fit in nicely due to the leadership we have.”
