is it fair to say we are starting to turn around?  good win against fairfield, a near miss against #9 UVa (i actually thought we didnt play well that game), and a gutsy road win at BC to go 1-0 in the AE.  hofstra was an obvious bottom.  it's two wins in the last three games and the defense put up some respectable #s today.  it's starting to look like the only loss we shouldnt have lost is SHU. GO SB

Chairman, I think you maybe right. OOC play seems to have prepped this team and they are improving. I liked the fight shown against Virginia who is still in the top 10 and from the stat feed it seemed like they fought hard on the road. Need to keep it rolling against Hartford. Big game to get this Saturday with Albany up next. 2 and 0 in league play would be a great place to be for this team. GO SB!

topnotch

Imagine what they might accomplish if they had a coaching staff they wanted to play for? If they were actually enjoying playing the game and not wishing for April 28th while hoping they don't make the playoffs.

Stony Brook - Let me start by saying this isn’t some kind of endorsement of Stony Brook, where I tell you they’re going to turn it around and show up in polls and all that. Stony Brook is not a contender. However, they are most definitely trending in the right direction. Stony Brook started the season 0-4, and managed only TWO goals against Hofstra. This team was very bad. But they righted the ship with a won over Fairfield, then played UVA to within one goal, and got a win over UMBC on Saturday. None of the team’s top ten scorers this year are seniors. In term’s of efficiency, here are some teams the Stony Brook offense ranks AHEAD of: Army, BU, Richmond, and Providence. They have some very difficult games left (Albany, UVM, Princeton just to name three), and they’re going to lose all three of those games. But Stony Brook is much improved over the past few weeks and deserves a trending up mention.

Going from abysmal to just fair doesn't merit any sort of extension for Nagle once his contract runs up. He's had more than enough time to build a consistent contender, and he hasn't.

I've been impressed with UVM which has elevated itself to the #2 team in the conference pretty quickly. Now of course they got spanked by Albany which will happen to every AE team.

Ultimately, barring an amazing run to end the year it's time for a change at Stony Brook. Find a former player with strong recruiting ties in Long Island and go from there. This is still a premier job.

ill make the argument again.  last four games have all been 1-2 goals.  won 3 of the last 4.  seemed to solidify bollinger in cage.  we're playing a lot of underclassmen.  ehlers is back on the roster and is another option for us at the faceoff (protesto is one of the best in the country).  every game we seem to have 8-9 players on the board (none are afraid to dodge), which will pay dividends when the temp increases.

maybe the turmoil is behind us.  (but UA looms)

PS hartford isnt the best team around but they move the ball as good as any.  we stuffed them and especially in the second half, we rotated well., took away good shots.  bollinger won this game for us by standing on his head in the 4th. GO SB

Solid team win with every facet improving from week before. Team has put themselves in a good position in AE by going 2 and 0 prior to Albany game. Playoffs look good, need to get to the #2 slot. Here is my 10 point plan for this week and to get 2 seed.
1) Take 1 week at a time
2) Enjoy this week, you are playing the #1 team in the country
3) Enjoy this week, you are playing the #1 team in the country. That has to be every player's dream when they are playing PAL or playing 6 games of travel ball over July 4th weekend in 100 degree heat. Go have fun
4) Let's be realistic, no one expects us to win. I do not want to win this game anyway, I want to beat them in the AE championship game. This game is all about getting better and learning how to beat them. Gain confidence. Make some saves, grab some ground balls, play some defense and score some goals. Connor Fields will get his, we need to stifle Tehoka-get in his head. Body him back, he seems immature to me. I think you can frustrate him. We cannot let others beat us. Need to win some faceoffs, show we have a chance. Not like last year's playoffs. Target has to be 16-10 ( I will even take 18-10) Here is logic, we can get 3 goals better on offense and defense by playoffs. That get's us to an even draw. This team has been improving. Rent Rocky 4....even Drago bleeds.
5) Send a message that we are the #2 team in the conference as predicted by Inside Lacrosse
6) Go have fun. Did I tell you that you are playing the #1 team in the NATION. I would run through a wall
7) Albany game will be good prep for St Johns and Princeton
8) 2 OOC games get us ready for Vermont who got crushed by Albany
9) 4-2 record in regular season seems likely with 2-0 start
10) Need to keep working and improving. Starting to like this team's Mojo

ps....this team is currently in first place
