Throwing in my .02 here since I played for Nagle (& Gibson). Players respect Gibson and enjoy playing for him... not so much the case for Nagle.  No one enjoys playing for that guy as he never once held himself accountable or took any responsibility (I can't imagine all the blame he is dishing out this week at practice). All former players I have spoken with over the last few days are embarrassed by the current state of the program and want him gone.

Not sure about the 'Players respect Gibson and enjoy playing for him' part.  That is NOT the case on this current team.

Yes it's early in the season but when you consider SB's RPI is 70 out of 71 teams...

Triathlete has it correct, I believe any player on this roster (or any recent roster) would love to meet him in a dark alley.  Not a single name on the roster enjoys playing for Gibson.

People. I am amazed how many disgruntled fans there are today talking about their dislike for Nagle and Gibson.. All I can offer is for each and everyone of you guys to go on Twitter and hit @shawnHeilbron up in a private message and display to him your dislike of the coaches and how SBLax is a laughing stock on long island..

If enough people put pressure on SH, he eventually will look hard into  replacement. Dont forget to throw in how you guys are considering not going to anymore Lax games and wont support the program unless something is done, in a hurry!!

Add Ben Randall to the list of talented kids who transferred out, went to a better school and became an All American.  It’s painful to watch Nagle on the sideline.  Team calls a TO and he never even talks to the kids.   He pouts like a baby and just argues with the Ref’s.  Never actually coaches.

Is it true he makes the kids all string their sticks exactally the same?  You think Marr is telling Connor Fields how to string his stick?

SH already knows but putting more pressure on would only reinforce the fans thirst for change.  I also believe Nagle knows he is on last leg this year and that he will be goner after the season.   I would even let him coach my sons travel team.

Thank god. As a former player who transferred out, I have to say, playing for nagle was the worst year of lacrosse I have ever experienced. The man actually sucked the life out of the sport. I can't think of one guy in the locker room who respected him and actually wanted to play for him. He does not hold himself accountable and degrades his players and puts the blame solely on them. Track record speaks for itself. When I was first here my freshman year we were ranked top ten nationally. It is an absolute shame as to where this program has went since. I think we all know what is coming and it is long overdue.

The list of those that actually left can go on and on. Inside the Locker room, there was another large majority of those who pursued transferring out ASAP. Fact of the matter is he isn’t a good teacher of life for the team. If he doesn’t like you, he makes it known to all. A large jolt of support from the recent alumni (since his hiring) will return when he is gone.

Gotta say I haven't seen this many posts flood into this board in years. There's a pretty clear consensus on a need for change. I'll continue to go out to the games to show support for the current players, but I'd like to assist with any kind of movement to help facilitate change. Go SB!

there certainly are more fans coming out of the woodwork... it's too bad that it takes some bad losses to cause it.

in other news.  just three weeks ago was the "beware the underdog darkwolves" article, about our optimism for our defense.  that's cringeworthy now, with 58 goals in the last 4 games.  77 if you go back to last year's first round UA game.

we also had seven different players take faceoffs- which doesnt bother me as much as the fact that 4 of them were poles, who never took faceoffs before.  were just over .300 for the year.
There are 29,413,039 corporations in America; but only one Chairman of the Board.

Transferring is now a big issue. You know half these kids are already planning next year’s exit. If they dump Nagle now some of the players may choose to stick it out. If they don’t dump Nagle now, the players will figure they’ll keep Nagle (because they always do), so I got to plan my exit.  This of course will lead to an even worst team next year.

Not to best timing for a hiring freeze...from Newsday

Updated March 1, 2018 6:19 PM
By Candice Ferrette and Scott Eidler

Stony Brook University will impose an indefinite hiring freeze effective immediately to address an ongoing structural budget deficit, officials announced Thursday morning.
The plan will impact nearly all positions at Long Island’s largest public research university that are funded by the state budget. The decision comes after several other austerity measures did not produce the needed savings, officials said.
SBU President Dr. Samuel L. Stanley Jr., in an exclusive interview with Newsday, said the university faces an $18 million shortfall in its total base funding due to contractual salary increases that were negotiated at the state level and are currently unfunded in the state budget. The freeze also will impact administrators, Stanley confirmed.
