FU keeping pole on corpo, brings up another for white.

reh wing dodge, moves up top as corpo steps in, overhand bouncer from 12. 4-4

gerstner showing a lot of range today, matsuoka having a big game so far.  our offense has pulled in GBs in traffic.

FU flag, SB EMO.  bitzer at x, over the top to lloyd, feeds inside to grippe for short shot. 5-4 SB

haun at x, draws the shorty, topsides his man, turn and shoot lefty off hip.  no slide. 6-4 SB

timeout FU, Q3 310

macie big inside save.  haun drives lefty from x, moves back to bitzer at x, changes fields to corpo up top, 13 yard bouncer with 3sec left. 7-4 SB

end of Q3, 7-4 SB

beginning of Q4.  by the way i havent seen rees today.  pugal and trenkle plugging the gap nicely.

burke shoots outside off screen from 12 yards. 7-5 SB

i think SB dropped into a zone with 6min left.  shot off screen, macie save.

reh up top, loses his man, sets feet and blasts one high to high stickside corner. 8-5 SB

CVG draws short at x, topsides his man, turn and shoot from low angle, far pipe top corner. 9-5 SB

big save behring on a break, goes the other way, burke crosscage feed to wagner, onetimer. 9-6 SB

FU flag, tripping.  SB EMO for 60sec with 053 left, FU doubles, timeout SB. Q4 039

FU gets ball, clears, calls timeout Q4 017

FU doesnt get a shot off while man down.

final SB 9-6

great defensive effort today, without rees.  no flags, kept them to 6 total.  gersnter had a busy day clearing up and down.  anderson was his usual self.  i thought matsuoka had a huge day.

on the other side, we didnt take care of the ball.  17 turnovers is high for us.

behring is great in cage but we just didnt generate the 66 shots we made last week (23 total!).  4-0 but probably wont move up in the polls, considering who is ahead.

keep an eye on that brown/rutgers game, it's tight right now.  princeton huge win over JHU last night, we play the tigers in early april.

Great to be 4-0!
I feel sorry for the kid who transferred to Jacksonville, who is now 0-5.  Jacksonville was walloped today by a score of 15-3 to Hartford who just lost to Manhattan!!!  Hopefully, the kid didn't transfer because of lacrosse! Wow, the lie(s) by the coaching staff must have been huge!

its a bit early for cpu polls but: http://lacrossereference.com/2017/03/04/updated-game-control-table-good-on-stony-brook/?utm_source=Social&utm_content=S2B0U1m7l0a3x04

there's a lot of assumptions in there and it takes into account how quickly leads are built and how long they are held on.

Hi COB,

I'm Zack and I run LacrosseReference.  If there are any questions or analyses that you'd like to see tackled on our site, let me know.  At this early stage, we are incredibly interested in the types of questions that the lacrosse community muses about in forums like these.  As a general philosophy, our aim is to combine ratings, like the one you referenced, with deeper analyses into the mechanics of the sport.  Hopefully more emphasis on the latter as we get more and more traction.

Thanks again for reading.

Is Rees hurt?

Huge game Friday...a win in NJ can push them up in a polls a bit

with the understanding that polls are usually flawed, some are computer, and it's way too early...

IL poll #14: http://www.insidelacrosse.com/league/di/polls/17

USILA #14: http://www.insidelacrosse.com/league/usila/polls/17

QK #14: http://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/quint-s-top-20-what-to-make-of-rankings-after-wild-weekend/48589

CC #13: http://www.collegecrosse.com/2017/3/6/14824924/you-know-its-going-to-get-stranger-denver-maryland-penn-state-notre-dame

Massey #8: http://www.masseyratings.com/clax/ncaa-d1/ratings

Analytics #15: http://analyticslacrosse.com/

RPI (too early) #3 :http://www.laxpower.com/update17/binmen/rpi01.php

Rutgers achieves highest poll ranking (#8) since 2004: http://www.onthebanks.com/2017/3/6/14830288/rutgers-mens-lacrosse-reaches-highest-ranking-since-04

it would be nice if anyone knew if the game is at HPSS, Yurcak, or the lax field.

thanks- you mean high point right?  the football stadium?

weather is supposed to be crappy.  i note rutgers has been without two of their top players on offense (trasolini and charalambides) and yet is still somewhat underappreciated at #8.

i also note they push the ball in transition and on defense, might be sliding adjacent.  they killed brown on early doubles at 5x5 where its public information that molloy would post up, turn his back, and reverse in.  so the knights merely slid from the blindside at x and brown couldnt make the pass behind.  proof: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtKaNYHoc2c&feature=youtu.be&app=desktop

btw brown just lost their third straight, to nova.  not good for SB but plenty of time.

I don't know who needed that game more Nova or Brown.
