On April 13, 1991 Stony Brook as a D1 team beat Hartford 26-6!It's not Newsday who's wrong. They go by the information that Stony Brook provides to them.

The Seawolves controlled the ball on offense thanks to a widely spread offense that swung the ball about quickly and with purpose. They moved their shortstick matchups to the strong side and pushed the remaining four players on offense to the weak side, forcing Brown to either cheat over or jump the slide early in an effort to stop the initial dodge, but often the dodger would sling the ball back to X (where the matchup was just as favorable) and look to feed cutters. What was once an amorphous bunching off-ball became death by a half-dozen cuts as players cycled through the middle, cutting and setting down screens to ruin potential slides and switched coverages.
Stony Brook didn’t slow the pace of the game in that first quarter so much as they controlled it; Brown managed to collect four possessions in the entirety of the quarter, managing to take four shots — Stony Brook took 17.
17. Stony Brook In a game that featured 104 shots, the Seawolves gave Brown a taste of their own medicine, winning 25-17. Stony Brook led 8-0 early. They were plus-6 in groundballs and took 66 shots while forcing five Brown failed clears. The Bears had six penalties in the last 20 minutes of the game — composure and sportsmanship were sold separately on Saturday.

NiceI caught a glimpse of the game in the first half when SB was down by 2.. I dont follow SB Lacrosse that much, but why did they struggle against SH? Is SH really that good, or did SB take a step backwards..I watched around 15 minutes of the game, I was extremely impressed with Rees #17 (Sophomore)! He is a human vacuum cleaner in GBs and has great speed! I wouldn't be surprised if earns at least HM All-America and possibly third team All-America.The team this year is extremely young with several freshmen receiving significant minutes and looked very tentative when running the offense, but still scored 12 goals. I'll cherish every win this season, especially the ones on the road. Stony Brook lost a ton on offense due to graduation, while Sacred Heart returned 6 of their top 7 scorers from last season and they had 13 players undergo surgery last season.Nice win - I'll take it!
