Ben Randall transferred to Ohio State.  I guess he wanted to play closer to home but that's a huge lose for the Seawolves

He left when Chiquen left. Tough one on one cover guy.
Tyler Anderson would fill in nicely. Pugel too.

Sucks...would have been nice to have both him and Anderson.

You have any other nuggets on the roster/upcoming season?

48 man roster with 19 freshman and 12 sophomores. Should be interesting to see what the line up will look
like next Saturday when we scrimmage Navy and Notre Dame.

I agree. We have enough coming back to compete. Ellis and Sheets both coming back off knee injuries.
Freshman Byrne I believe is out with injury. Do they move Reh to 1st line Middie? Does Pugal and Tyler
Anderson move down low on Defense? Bitzer staying at attack? Does Rees stay on the wing? Talented freshman class could fill alot of holes.
Lots of ??????

Hopefully they continue - they are fun to watch!

Here are some things to look for in the upcoming scrimmages this weekend.
Lindsay won't be back till next semester so we will see who steps up
at fogo. Sheets and Ellis won't be back yet, still rehabbing.Much needed depth
and experience when they return. Look for Bitzer and Corp at attack. Reh could be
on number 1 middie line. Pugal and Abdellatif down low on D. Want to see what
combinations the coaching staff comes up with.

Love the videos. The athletic department should hire Hayden to put them together throughout the year.

Are there any freshmen we should keep an eye on?

good question on the freshmen.

also on the topic of moving positions around- it's worked out before.  curry to defense, bitzer to attack (though he was doing very well at mid!), pugal to short, etc.

Haun,Vanginhoven and White are some of the freshman that have been talked
about as having a strong early showing. Still have guys like Ozvath, Lloyd and Daly
that can make waves also.

I caught the fourth quarter of SBU-Navy. Haun had two goals and i'm pretty sure he assisted on the other goal in the quarter. He looked pretty comfortable out there. Otherwise I wasn't there long enough and don't have the lacrosse IQ to add much commentary. Hopefully others made it out there today and will report back.

Initially, I thought we looked a little young vs. Navy, but the boys were holding their own throughout most of the game. I also felt like they out-sized us quite a bit as well with several guys on their roster between 6'4" and 6'6" just bowling some of our smaller guys over. That'll change once the younger guys put on some muscle I imagine.

vs. ND was a different game and my favorite of the three played. While both sides showed a little bit of sloppy passing and throw-aways early on, I think everyone settled in by the second half. SB came to play.. swarming ground balls, causing turnovers, taking the body when necessary. I liked the intensity. Bitzer and Reh did their thing and were both stepping up. Corpo had an absolute cannon last year but was coming up short with a lot of his bouncers and shots aimed low. The Navy goalie had a good bead on those from the start. Hoping to see him lighting up the corners soon. Anderson playing a great LSM. Daly made his presence known on several occasions. Few other observations:

#19 Maciejewski - Wizard in goal vs ND. Made some ridiculous saves today.

#18 Matsuoka - Really turned it around vs ND -- kid hustled hard

#21 Grippe - Showed some great stick skills. Buried a few past ND's talented goaltender -- definitely one to watch

4th Quarter vs. ND, all gears were clicking. Boys were moving the ball well on O. Defense looking strong. Plenty of work to be done before February, but I liked what I saw today.
