Looks like Notre Dame added with Navy for fall scrimmage.

Here is the press release....

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook men’s lacrosse team will welcome two of the premier lacrosse programs in the country for a fall scrimmage on Oct. 8. Head coach Jim Nagle announced that Notre Dame and Navy will venture to Long Island to play three games in LaValle Stadium.

"We are very excited to have two programs with great traditions competing against our 2017 squad," said head coach Jim Nagle. "It should be a great day of fall lacrosse in the best venue in the country, LaValle Stadium.  I know our student-athletes are looking forward to the opportunity"

Notre Dame finished 2016 ranked no. 6 in the USILA Coaches’ Poll with a 9-3 record. After earning the no. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament, the Irish downed Air Force 15-7 in the first round before North Carolina ended their season with a 13-9 upset victory.

The Irish return USILA first team All-American Sergio Perkovic, second team All-American John Sexton and third team All-American goalie Shane Doss.  The Irish had five Long Island players on their 2016 roster, including three-time All-American Ryan Kavanaugh from Rockville Center and Chaminade High School.

Navy went 10-4 in 2016 to earn a no. 15 ranking. They upset no. 4 Yale in the NCAA First Round before taking no. 5 Brown to the brink in an 11-10 loss.

Navy’s no. 2 ranked scoring defense was led by second team All-American Chris Fennell, who returns for his senior season. Eight Midshipmen from the 2016 roster hailed from Long Island.

Stony Brook and Notre Dame will kick off the festivities with a game at 10 a.m. The Irish and Midshipmen will follow with a noon start followed by Stony Brook and Navy at 2 p.m.

Admission will be $5 per person.
