Marist is a program that was a basement dweller for quite a while- not so anymore. in their recent past theyve beaten some solid teams (towson, siena, SB, rutgers, albany). but nothing earth shattering (neither has SB since denver in 2010). they do not however play a very strong schedule.
i believe we probably compete for recruits with marist. note they have beaten SB three in a row (10-9, 13-9, 13-12). they have come a long long way in just a few years.
so who returns? i think everyone. their goalie is a senior and the usual same five suspects on offense have commanded the lion's share of points- begley, radin, joka, recor, nesmith. the recruiting class is from strong programs, many of which are on LI.
in the preseason, the coaches picked marist tied for second with detroit mercy, just behind siena.
so far marist has a pretty solid win over AFA (note, at air force) and also bingo. scarcello has been on fire in the cage with 25 saves. i havent seen them play. their LSM (eaker) and begley are the studs on the team, i think.
in 2014 the foxes won 13-12 in poughkeepsie. the offense did well for SB, but the defense gave up 10 goals to joka and nesmith alone.
