slow start as neither team can take care of the ball, and lots of mental errors.  both teams with great early goaltending.

heard that SB will split goalies, which likely means maciejewski will come in after halftime... just a guess.

then it opened up quickly.  if no one will slide to rogers on the inside roll- i say let him go all day.  then easty scored on the low crease.  drew a flag.  same play to easty, 3-0.  end of 1st Q.

lots of posts already from both teams.  long possessions for SB.  SB is moving the ball really well.  you can tell that they are looking to pass before they even catch.

sloppy start but they seem to be finding their groove...3-0 after one.   Eastwood with 2 and Rogers with the other

SB ride playing really hard.  rooney goal called off for stepping in the crease.  flag on play, rooney scores on EMO.  SB dominating ToP so far.

SJ scores on EMO.  i see ellis down low for faceoffs so SB can double pole the wings.

SJ fast break and score by the LSM.  4-3 SB

another SB goal called off (curry) for offsides, SJ goes the other way on a break and scores.

playing well for SB- jeff reh.  schultz scores on a high bouncer.  5-4 SB.

cross field feed to easty for an easy bouncer.  thats a hat trick in the first half.

luca wins next faceoff, to rogers, goal wiped out for crease violation, but flag.  big SJU save, SJU timeout.  big save johnstone.  halftime.

great first half for easty, johnstone, reh.  good game.  halftime 6-4 SB.

tried chromecast- never works...

maciejewski is in for johnstone.  ive probably been saying it wrong- is it motch-ee-yef-sky?  now a righty cage for SB.

rooney scores and draws another flag (3rd?).  EMO, flurry of shots, no score, SJU clear and also flag against SB, SB gets the ball back.

danaher is standing on his head for SJU.  lots of saves.

a big big area for improvement for SB- take some body when the ball is on the ground.

dejohn drives from X and scores in close.  7-5 SB.

corpolongo for SJU wins the faceoff and goes right down to score, and just like that, one goal game.

flag against SJU on offense- rogers to schultz low crease, EMO goal.  i think EMO is 3/4 today.  8-6 SB.

macie making some great saves but now SJU dominating ToP and getting shots.

SJU on another fast break, 8-8.  all tied up end of 3Q.

Typical SB...they can never hold a lead vs a decent team.   Shot selection is awful.   SJU's goalie is playing great and we are playing our backup.

slow fourth quarter so far- SJU scores on a feed to the crease.

diachenko again from the outside.

this game has a lot of great goaltending, poor shooting, and quite a few pipes.  its 10-8 SJU with 8min left.

diachenko from the wing- that's three in a row for him- then dejohn off a broken play- 12-8 SJU with 6 min left.

macie was pulled for johnstone, SB timeout.

God I hate Nagle...you wait until you are 4 down to put your starting goalie back in...why they hell you would take him out in a close game in the first place???  This is not the Jaspers coach.

dejohn inside roll- 13-8 SJU with 2min left and SB is toast.

then a flag against SB.

so what went wrong today?  hard to tell.  i thought SB had some promise this year but you cant shut off mentally in the 2nd half the way they did today.  the johnnies went on a 9-1 run in the second half.  its not like SJU is a top twenty team this year.  plenty of time left though as its only feb.

at least bball is up big today...
