Actually. No. Newsday covers Stony Brook sports extensively. Primarily a focus on Football and Men's basketball and some lacrosse at times. When SBU Lacross is ranked in the Top-20 it usually gets more coverage but since this year is a "down" year they have picked up on basketball alone. Hofstra has taken the back seat and St.Johns is Big East so it gets good coverage. I can't complain about Newsday. They do a good job and they have become great partners of SBU.

Newsday covers all Stony Brook sports.  There will be a lacrosse preview in this weekend's Newsday.  Men's Lacrosse is not have a down year.  You can't have a down year when the season hasn't started.  If Stony Brook MBB is away, space is not set for an away game like it is for home games.  It's unfair criticism for something most people have no concept about.

Thanks Captain- i jumped the gun on that, was hoping for a preview or any coverage this week, not the day of the game!  GO SB

The fact of the matter is Newsday will jump on anyone's bandwagon.  It's the nature of the beast.  If Stony Brook is good, Newsday will cover.

Captain. Dont know if "Down" is the right term to use... But I was referring to how young this team is and the expectations for the year

No doubt the team is young, but the expectations are always high.  Stony Brook lacrosse has reached a level of consistency.  May not be supremacy, but certainly will be there in the end.

No doubt...they were all over the football team this year and had some great coverage for the hoops squad.

Greg Logan at Newsday does a great of keeping fans up to date with all things Stony Brook.  He is a must follow if you are on twitter

Of course.  I see its a 90% chance of precip, but a mix of rain and snow.

FWIW, ive never really seen this stop a game, however, ya never really know.  First round at the Bench is on me.  And the second as well.

speaking of jerseys, i just noticed that the whites we had created last year (not the old school ones) look a helluva lot like Cortland: http://insidelacrosse.com/news/2013/01/31/division-iii-ten-burning-questions-heading-season
