eh another blown lead.  and to lose on a flag in OT!!!  sucks.

yes, they blew a 4 goal lead this time.

again the silver lining is that this game is the one to lose in April.  not BC, not UA, not Bingo.

I'm not feeling too good about the coaching. Of course there's the extra man on the field at the end-- that's for the coach to manage and prevent, especially at a critical time like OT. The blown leads in the second half usuallly means lack of conditioning. That's also on the coaching staff for not emphasizing it during pre-season. And Nagle should probably put his grandmother in at FO. She couldn't do any worse than now. Whether they win the conference or not, I'm hoping for better next year. IF they can solve the FO problem, and Rooney gets even better, they should make it back to the Top 20.

Another let down. SB leading 5-1 and then falls in overtime.

Well, at least we clinched the Canine Conference tourney, sitting at 3-0: http://www.americaeast.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=14000&ATCLID=205414456

Check the stats

It appears to me that SBU was beaten by a superior team.  Yes, the overtime mistake was a coaching error; but to allow Yale to come back strongly in the second half was a team problem.  Shots, Yale 43, SBU 22;  Ground balls, Yale 37,  SBU 27;   Turnovers, Yale 11,  SBU 18;  Face offs,  21 - 13
The stats show a team that beat us even though SBU allowed ONLY ONE goal in the first half.
SBU is not getting the scoring it takes to win and is loosing the ball too often.
Best to all;  the team, the coaches and the fans.

I think what we should take away from the game is that this team can play with almost anybody in the country. I might be alone here, but I'm actually really impressed with how they're playing. The 4-8 record is disappointing, as are the one goal losses, but they are getting better and for most of last night they were playing at a level I honestly did not expect coming into the season.

Its true- 6 losses are by one goal, one of them by two.

All of those teams are improved this year.  And, a couple were in OT (if my memory is right) and this wasnt the first 1 goal loss that a goal was called off.  Theyll be ok, they aint losing me as a fanatic.

This team is definitely going to be one great team next year. But it still stinks that they have so many one-goal loses. Inexperience has to play some factor in this team's inability to close out games.

The good part is that this conference is so weak that a NCAA berth is still a realistic goal

I'm not so sure the Brook will be great next year...They are losing their 3 best middies (Campbell, Bonanno, LeVerne), and their best defenseman in Moller.  Brady has been average at best in goal.  FOGO needs to be addressed and I'm not sure an incoming freshman is going to fix that.

Hope I'm wrong but time will tell.  Now let's see if they can roll off 4 in a row vs the AE.

I would love to see  us knock off Hartford. What scares me is they have agreat F/O guy who gave Rand a hard time last year and Rand was one of the best.

Thank God!  With the way he handled Rand last season he would shut us out on F/O this year.  Ok so got a shot at a W  Saturday.

Can someone explain the strategy we are using at the faceoff now. I'm guessing when Laforet's out there with the long pole he's really just trying to cause a turnover or get back on defense so to not give up the fast break goal. And I'm guessing we had him taking the fo's on monday because yale has a good fogo and Nalge didn't want to give up goals in transition off a face off loss. Is that correct?

All though I agree w/JoeWillie when he talks about losing Moeller & Campbell. I would have to say that Milican is every bit as good as Laverne. Also Rooney has played middie most of the year and leads in goals. Andreassi needs to step up. Nagle better find a f/o and goalie. Team will be young next year wich might be good, you need to get rid of the Ricky Sowel leftovers.
