this made me laugh- he turned down UNC because it didnt have the academic program he was looking for.  the joke being that it turned out some of their academic programs were fake.

I remember some earlier comments on Ronan.....isn't he supposed to be the best recruit for SB in a decade?   How is he looking??

here's a guy on the radar- perhaps for two sports: https://theprovince.com/sports/high-school/steve-ewen-mcdonald-loves-his-football-lacrosse-but-is-playing-both-realistic

And we can further cloud the discussion here. McDonald admits there have been NCAA schools that have toyed with the idea of him playing both sports. The Delta Optmist listed the schools as Delaware and Stony Brook in a feature story earlier this season.

Stony Brook, for instance, wraps its football schedule in November. Its first field lacrosse game would be sometime in February.

McDonald admits the premise of being on two teams is “appealing,” but also contends that “it would be a lot,” at the university level.

McDonald says he’ll likely decide on where he’s going to attend university in December, after the football season is completed. For now, the focus will be on getting the Sun Devils on a Subway Bowl playoff run at the very least.

Ben led the B.C. Junior “B” Tier One League in scoring this past season and helped the Islanders win the playoff championship. He has already toured Ohio State University during his Grade 10 year to play field lacrosse.

“It’s me deciding what sport I want to play. I have to make a decision which will happen after the football season,” said Ben.

At least two U.S. schools — Delaware and Stony Brook — would consider Ben continuing to play both sports.

A Long Islander who perpetually plays with an edge, Derby impressed at July's Epoch IL Committed Academy before beginning with Syracuse. He has an excellent stick, doing his best work off the ground and when throwing hard takeaway checks. As a somewhat undersized D guy, he's able to make up for it with his tenacity. Derby will now head to Stony Brook for the spring, giving the Seawolves another talented local product. It also likely ends a long string of potential destinations for his lacrosse career: Derby verbally committed to Army in July of 2016, switched to Dartmouth and ended up at 'Cuse (the two commitment dates are unknown). He also started his career at St. Anthony's, standing out early in the recruiting process at a number of tournaments with LI Express.

Derby brings a nasty disposition to the table. A relentless pitbull, he’s also a force on ground balls and is extremely tough.

OTTAWA, Ontario — Stony Brook men's lacrosse freshman Noah Armitage has moved within one step of representing his native Canada in the 2020 World Lacrosse Men's U19 World Championship this summer.

The 6-foot-3 Armitage, who hails from New Westminster, B.C., is part of a group of 32 Canadian players who has advanced to a second evaluation camp from an original field of 73 that tried out over three days in Oshawa, Ontario, in October.

"I have dreamed about being able to wear the red and white ever since I was young," said Armitage, an attackman at Stony Brook, who was moved to midfield during the Team Canada tryout. "Getting the opportunity to make it a reality is an honor in itself. I'm ready and confident that I will be able to attack the opportunity this upcoming spring and achieve my goal."

new additions to the senior class:

Dylan McDermott '26, a transfer from franklin & marshall, and then hofstra, he's a defenseman from connetquot.  he's listed as a freshman but i think he's a grad transfer, not sure.

Andrew Brust '26, a transfer goalie from William Floyd HS / St. Joseph's.
