Maybe I missed something when coach Sowell was here but Nagle seems to be going deep into the high school ranks grabbing thses kids interest early.  Gotta  love  it.

Sowell got lucky when he got McBride which led him to Crowley. Nagel has done a stellar job recruiting. As we see from the bios he's not only getting good Lacrosse players but he's getting top notch multi sport athletes. Some of these football players he is getting have quite the resume. That's a page out of Dom Starsa's book from Virginia, get real good high school football players to play Lacrosse in college. Watched Jake Sheets play QB in person last week he is another real good athlete and leader on the field. Keep em coming.

Do our Lax experts feel Nagle is building something special at the Brook?   He had a winner last season against all odds, I would even give him a pass this year if these recruits  develop over the long haul.

This incoming freshman class will define him imo.  He gets a pass for last year as it was mostly Sowells team but he did get a 7-10 team into the Tourny.  If some of his freshman (Rogers, Eastwood, Schultz, Lynott, Lindsay, etc) hit this year it will put SBU in a great position for the next few years.  Can't wait for Feb 9th.

Of course.  He's a proven winner and did a great job on a short year with players that werent necessarily his recruits.

Not to use Sowell as a direct comparison, but he came in in the same fashion, the roster quickly turned over, put in a long term investment in a large talented freshman class, and within a couple years was a hair away from a final 4 and nearly knocked off #1 Virginia twice.

Nagle will be just fine- but he'll do even better than that.  Plus, he is fortunate in some respects that the AE is down (Espey, Tiffany, and Sowell's first couple of years were the UA/BC domination years) so he will get them into the tourney i predict at least 50% of the time, somehow.

I feel he is building a real winner here. Even though they made tourny last year, 7-10 is not they way you want to get there. So I think he gets a pass for last year with big expectations for the next couple of years. Chairman is right about the AE witch is winnable and played at LaValle the next 2 yrs.

Would be sweet but I bet he ends up like Rooney.  I'm fine with the Canucks.  Fingers crossed Lindsay comes back next year.

Ironically, i think its from the same HS as... Brett Queener!

If anyone can come up with the height/weight, that would be awesome.

I agree with Joe Willie - Sheets sounds very Rooney-esque. They both seem like very high lacrosse iq individuals who don't have exceptional D1 physical attributes. It will be interesting to see how both athletes mature. I'm still hoping Rooney can grow to be a bit more like Compitello creating from X. We'll see....

Rooney is on pace to have a 200pt career w/89pts in 2yrs. He is also on pace to score 100g w/53 in 2yrs. Compitello had 146 pts w/68g & 78a. With his 2 best yrs ahead of him it is very possible that Rooney achieves these milestones witch in turn would make him a legitimate Div 1 athlete and Lax player.
