Just saw inside lacrosse's top 100 freshman list...disappointed to say the least that Brian Prestreau wasn't included. He put up crazy numbers for Yorktown this past season, and did it against some really good competition. Also I don't believe it's been posted yet that Prestreau was the player of the year in the Hudson Valley according to MSG Varsity.

Without even looking at the list I'm going to say 85% of the kids listed are going to ACC or Ivy League schools.   That is how Inside Lacrosse does it.

Paul Carcaterra said Prestreau is the real deal and should start right away. His critique never has any bias to it so I will take his word over those hacks at inside lacrosse.

Anyone know if Tyler Andreassi is red-shirting?  I know the plan was for him to come here and play with his brother but haven't heard anything.  He would have been a top 2017 recruit.

Prestreau with a goal on 2 shots in his debut with Penn State...so happy Nagle wanted him to play D Mid.

Yeah, scoring a goal to make it 18 - 4 must have been an important one.  I hear Prestreau is up for Big Ten Rookie of the Week  ;D

Let's not be an ass...nobody said he was the chosen one, but he was their top recruit and he couldn't get out of program quick enough.  He would have started for Stony Brook last night with Andreassi out.  Could have used him.

Eh, Prestreau put up great numbers senior year, but it's hard to really compare him to a guy like Bitzer who didn't play on a good high school lacrosse team, but was a stand out basketball and football player on good teams.  I'd actually be willing to bet Bitzer has a better college career than Prestreau when it's all said and done.

In general I don't blame Nagle at all for Prestreau leaving. I don't think the kid even finished out his semester here. I don't think thats a lacrosse thing.

Here is the point funny guy. Since Nagle took over 2 of his top recruits left before the fall was over ( L. Miller & Prestreu ) and another top recruit who was a freshman starter left after a year ( Tom Monzo ). That's not a good trend.

If Prestreau was the main recruit for his grade, why didn't Coach Nagle ever go see him play? I know he went to go see the other two Hudson Valley kids play multiple times. In those two games vs Somers, Brian put up 9g's 3a's against the other freshmen Alex Corpolongo who had 0g 0a.
To put on top of that, taking a kid who scored 67 times his senior year, who was an All-American, Player of the year for Hudson Valley, and the second leading scorer as a Midfielder behind Roy Colsey at the Tradition rich Yorktown High School, and switching him to a D middie is just one of the worst coaching moves anyone could make. I wouldn't blame him for leaving so quickly.
Prestreau is currently the 4th or 5th midfielder at Penn State who is in the Top 10, so he must be doing something right over there.

The Great Prestreau has 2 goals and still 0 ground balls this season.
By the way, Yorktown hasn't beaten Ward Melville since 1984 or 85. I think Yorktown has lost around 24 games in a row to Melville! :P

Does that have anything to do with Prestreau? I don't believe so, he would of probably would of put on a show just like he did to St. Anthony's (6g), Chaminade(2g), Wilton(5g) and to Ridgefield(4g). So what you just stated was useless. Bottom line, he's not the chosen one, but he is better then most kids in his grade. Give him time and he will shine.
At the end of the season, just let me know how it goes when half the freshmen class transfer out. And whats with the 2018 class decommitting? Looks like something should change with the attiude Coach Nagle is showing. Cant be good for a D1 program to have so many kids leave since he's been head coach. Whats it at now, like 9 or 10 kids leave over the past couple of seasons?

Oh, I forgot - he also has 0 assists this season! How desperate was Penn State, they needed a kid to play midfield who couldn't hack it at Stony Brook! Though, Penn State is playing great this season, they have NEVER won NCAA tournament game!
