St Anthony’s upset Chaminade for the CHSAA title, and IL wrote this:

The Friar defense was also excellent, paced by Jonathan Lynott and George Deignan, a pair of seniors headed to Stony Brook and Binghamton, respectively. Lynott shadowed Chaminade's top option, quarterback Ryan Lukacovic (Virginia) and disallowed him from getting anything going whatsoever.

A good sign that our defensive woes will have some help!

Saw on twitter Stony Brook picked up a commitment from face off specialist Jay Lindsay. He's a member of the Canadian U-19 national team and has placed at several face off competitions here in the states. He reportedly won  90% of the draws at Canadian field nationals last summer for Team Ontario.

Great news!  And another faceoff specialist will certainly help.

Seems he's played before with Hayden Johnstone (Team Ontario) and Kyle Rowe (National Faceoff Combine).

Here is a couple of things you guys might want to know.  Matt Shultz finished the season with 91pts ( 64g 27a ) don't know how many pts he had last  year but in last 2 yrs he put up 116 goals!!!

Also another possible recruit for 2013 is mid Tom Hughes from Comsewogue ( 5'9" 160 ) 51 goals on the year w/suffolk title gm on wed 5/30
MSG announcer stated that no decision has been made but that Stony Brook, Post, Dowling were considering and he would be a late signee.
These guys alwys have great info when they do a telecast that's were I got the Ferreira info. So maybe we have another real good player coming in
from another top Suffolk program. This maybe why there is word about the roster being cut down.

Last thought after watching Sayville play Easport in the semis both Ferreira and Sichenzia are major contributers on really good Suffolk team. Sichenzia had 2 goals and Ferreira is a beast with the long pole, he took all f/o's as well. Really impressed w/both Ferreira looks like he might be able to play right away because of his size and physical play.

Sayville will play Comsewogue on Wed 5/30 at 8pm at LaValle, I will let you know when it will be televised.

Thanks Chris- i think Schultz will fit in nicely with Bellando and Rooney on attack!  And i hope they work Watson into the mix more often, as he does well when they have him on.

I heard Hughes was interested (little brother of Ryan Hughes), and there's no shortage of Comsewogue players on this team, continue the pipeline!

I dont have MSG access (which sucks, because the Rangers were great this year and i couldnt watch) so i cant see all the coverage but thanks for sharing, its very helpful.

In addition to the summary above- ive got the team records for our recruits and the Laxpower National CCR: http://www.laxpower.com/update12/binboy/natlccr.php

Buron (Duxbury) 19-4 (#34 CCR)- Mass state champs
Berardis (Mahopac) 11-7 (#334 CCR)- plays Mamaroneck tomorrow in the tourney
Lynott (St. Anthony's) 16-3 (#10 CCR)- CHSAA champs
Monzo (Penn Charter) 13-12 (#80 CCR)- lots of close losses to good teams
Rock (Bay Shore) 12-6 (#190 CCR)- lost to Sachem North in the tourney

Of course, its a crappy cpu rating, but neverthless, its what we have.

And for our three incoming canucks:
White (Peterborough)- tied for first in Ontario JR A
Lindsay (Burlington)- tied for first in Ontario JR A
Rogers (Coquitlam)- i think the WLA season just started last week

Here's the rest of the class, for what its worth:

Reh (Miller Place) 10-6 (#257 CCR)- up and down year for MP
Curry (East Meadow) 8-8 (#808 CCR)- i think they lost in the first round
McLean (Minnechaug) 11-7 (#598 CCR)- i think they lost in the second round
Ramirez (Brentwood) 3-13 (#1864 CCR)- struggled all year
Wood (Guilderland) 12-6 (#615 CCR)- blasted by Nisky in round 2
Sbarglia (Rome) 11-6 (#441 CCR)- lost in playoffs to FM
Vivian (CBA Albany) 12-6 (#695 CCR)- lost in OT to Shen in playoffs
Shaughnessy (Sudbury) 14-5 (#286 CCR)- advanced to 3rd round with OT win

All corrections welcome- as its sometimes difficult to find info on HS games. http://www.laxlessons.com/2012/05/28/york-state-boys-girls-tournament-brackets/

After watching Lucatuaro play Smithtown West in the semis it is clear that he is not just a f/o specialist.  This kid can really play the midfield, he scored a hat trick against SW.  He has speed, can dodge, and is strong as a bull.  They said Melville made a lineup change and thus Lucatuaro was on the field much more since the playofs started and has made a huge difference. When I watched him before I concentrated on the f/o and totally missed the fact that he has other tremendous skills. Has the tools to maybe be SDM. Ward Melville plays West Islip for class A Suffolk title on Wed 5/30 at 5:30 pm at LaValle. This is about as good as it gets in High School Lax.

Also watched Tyler Andreassi play West Islip in the semis.  This kid is an ox, he is built like his brother. He is really fast and hits like a truck, but yet has soft hands w/the long pole. Would compare him to Pelligrino ( JHU ) only bigger.

Chairman I will talk to you soon.

I watched some of the WM/SW game too and Lucatuaro does have some skills...big kid too.  To bad we couldn't get the FOGO for Smithtown West...that kid was dominate.  Of course he is going to Hopkins.  Why sit at the Hop when you can start at the Brook is what I always say.

Also, are we sure Nate White committed to the Brook...this report has him going to Siena:

Of course you know Nagle won't have a roster out until early 2013
