what a win.  a huge victory.  near-complete shut down in the second half, except for that last desperation drive.  the D was in the backfield interrupting and nova looked like a totally different team in the 2nd.

we should move up a bit with this win.

btw- you guys should really either give some credit to the bone, and/or watch the replay.  he was absolutely fantastic.  sure there was one pass in the 1st half that couldve gone pick six, but otherwise he was right on the money. GO SB

That was the greatest half of football I've ever seen in the history of the program. We got a break with the fumble to open the second half, but after that? We rolled them. Totally different team and my oh my what an effort. We looked like a playoff team tonight and it's not crazy to start talking about that. I really didn't expect us to be able to run the ball the way we did against a program like Villanova. Awesome awesome awesome!!

fineran breaks up the 2 pt conversion.

sometimes those missed PATs dont cost ya.  today was one of those days!!!

That formation they lined up in was some real sneaky BS. Whatever the coaches told the defense after that timeout, I'd like to hear about it because it worked!! You used to see Oregon line up in that weird formation after TDs all the time. Really glad we got the W.

Carbone played really, really well. I was very impressed too, since it was against a really good team. My issue with Carbone in the past has been the inconsistency. Him being a senior makes him a huge asset to this team, but the inconsistent play is what I didn't like. If this version of Carbone continues to show up, this is at least an FCS quarterfinal team. The depth at the other positions is there to make a really nice run.

On to Towson next weekend! Which is looking to be another heavyweight fight.

Im all in on the Bone. He played fantastic today. He seems to do whatever the team needs him to do. Today it was put on him and he delivered. Impressive win.

I give credit where credit is do, and Carnone probably played his best game ever. Good for him and good for coach P. Well done SB. I didn't think you guys were going to pull off the upset..

Not related to the game itself, but as a viewer online, I really liked the production quality Fox Sports brought to this game. I know our "in house" guys on CollegeSportsLive do the best they can, and I'm glad I can get every game for free pretty much, but the broadcast and production quality between Fox and CSL is night and day. I really wish the conference would just sell the entire broadcast package to a network like Fox or ESPN so we get the better quality across the board for every game. The Valley does this for football with ESPN, and we do it with ESPN for basketball already. It would just make the broadcasts with choppy audio and low quality video a thing of the past. Yesterday's game was the best production quality I've seen since our ESPN playoff games last year.

Once again our team speed really made the difference. I knew Haggart was fast (he was a very good RB in high school), but the way he closed on the Villanova QB for the safety was amazing. Noticed our freshman transfer Williams was right there on the play too. Ditto for the entire D the 2nd half.

Carbone had a couple of great games last year and this game was right up there with those.

Just wanted to chime in. The game was a blast to watch live. Carbone really threw some great passes. The safety really got the crowd going. Yes it wasn't a sell out but it was still a really good crowd. It was a good mix of run and pass yesterday. Villanova is a really good team and this was a phenomenal test for this group. Bednarczyk really was running for his life in the second half until he came out of the game.

On a side note, Pruban has to have lost his job as a placekicker. He wasn't even close on some of those PATs and his kickoff length leaves a lot to be desired.

Pruban was brutal and this game was closer then it should have been because of the miss extra points. My JV son can hit better extra points than him. Just saying.
