Another W today, thats 7 in a row.   ;D

Defense held VMI to 1/10 on third down.  Only downer are the 13 flags.  Norrell has 14 TDs on the year and i heard he broke a Big South receiving record (i think for yards).

Radio guys said Essington has "Bradyesque" numbers with 22, 5 on the year.   :D

Didnt see the attendance, but from the video it didnt look over 5k.  I think we average 5-6k at home this year right now.

Did Dudley get hurt?

#1 GaSo loses to App State, but im not sure GaSo falls behind us or even that App State moves in front.  Both are possible.

NDSU wins, so i think they move to #1.  Mon St destroyed ND, so they likely are #2.  SHSU and ODU won big, so they stay.

Lehigh barely edges Holy Cross.  EWU wins, and Wofford loses so i think we jump them.  Id say we move up one spot, maybe GaSo is somewhere in the 7 and App State moves right behind us.  Im hoping for #8 this week.

Behind us, JMU wins; NH loses to W&M; N Arizona wins.

What a great day filled with Stony Brook Athletics. First an amazing soccer comeback... topped off with another great win by the Seawolves. I was glad to see around 5k people show up for the matchup despite the serious gasoline/transportation shortage. Took the train east to huntington and then a friend picked me up just to watch those wolves beat up on VMI.

Overall a great day... but freaking cold. Several loses (GaSo, Wofford) and victories (Army) and near loses (Lehigh) that should hopefully help our situation... and then we got the pretenders (Albany) that can possibly be shut out of the NCAA tourney and definitely out the polls.

actually... official attendance was 4,421... not bad... considering the state of emergency that we are dealing with throughout the Island and NYC.

Average Attedance for the regular season is 5980... Just short of 6000 for the season. If we get a playoff game then expect the average to climb pass the 6k

Last Three four years:

Year    Total    Average
2008   19,531  3,255
2009   18,578  4,644
2010   24,541  4,908
2011   39,009*  5,573*
2012   35,878   5,980

*Includes Division 1-AA First Round vs Albany with a reported Attendance of 8,286

Its safe to say that we are growing at a respectable rate.

Another great dominating win, but against a bottom dweller. If we are to beat Liberty at their place and more importantly, go deep in the playoffs, the penalties must come down. 136 yards...that's just a gift to the other team.

I agree on the penalities. We  had a couple of great plays called abck for holding, a couple of the big  unsportsman  type 15 yarders.  That was bad football. If you do that against a strong team  we lose . Now to beat the Flames !

I'm no medical expert, but when they helped Dudley off the field it didn't appear he could put any weight at all on his left foot.  My guess is either an ankle or ACL.  Either way, it looked to me like it could be a season-ender.  What a shame for him and the team!!  First Gush, now Dudley--two really good ones.  Let's hope we can stay healthy at Liberty.

Re: all the penalties, I agree that we must cut down on them if we're to beat Liberty and go far into the playoffs--especially the dead ball fowls.  But, I must say that this past Saturday there seemed to be an awful lot of unwarranted phantom calls.  Specifically, both one of the out-of-bounds hit calls and a pass interference against SBU looked completely unnecessary.

Off topic just a bit-- one of the most frustrating things about football are refs who think people pay to watch them blow their whistles. It's FOOTBALL for crying out loud. If it's not a blatant and obvious foul, let the players play. It's far worse in basketball, but that's a whole other discussion...

I wasn't thrilled with the amount of penalties.  Going into the final minutes of the game, we had more penalty yards than VMI had yards of offense.  Thats just goofy.
