This is a complete train wreck. We just can't get it done offensively. Tyquel clearly has potential, but he's very nervous and is just narrowly missing receivers. He's got a very strong arm though. I can see him playing much better as the year goes on and becoming a real force come the November time frame, but this tonight is just bad so far.

On a good note - Its nice to see our very own Dani (WBB Alumn) reporting for Stadium TV. Probably the only highlight so far

Two years in a row for coach P and SB being shut out. Coach P needs to go. Say what you want.

If you guys think SB should move up to the FBS, look again. SB is light years away from any move up. Coach P needs to go!!

And the year we almost knocked off a ranked USF team? A USF team that went on to win 10 games and finish ranked 21st in the final FBS AP Poll? If you want to cherry pick data I can. This is a bad look for sure, but one single game doesn't mean we don't belong in FBS. A school of our profile should be in the ACC or Big Ten with our peers.

I normally agree with your assessments, but you are wrong about this. This team belongs in the FCS. Coach P does not have what it takes to recruit and groom players to compete in the upper division. Coach P needs to go!!

Saying “we belong in the FCS” is a terrible mentality. There’s no room for growth if you’re happy with settling for mediocrity. There’s no way that you can be happy playing in what is known as the subpar conference, where schools like Utah a state look at us as jokes.

Some take aways on Utah St -  They are more skilled  than we were , faster and more athletic . Plus  we gave up 22 scholarships 85 to 63 .  Their QB is talked about as possible Heisemen  Candidate.   We had no chance in this game   the deck was stacked against us.  If we ever move up I think the MAC is a reasonable goal .  All our sports are in the same boat . We have good athletes  that  are a grade or two below FBS  kids in any sport . Thats the reality of FCS and being in lower conferences all around.

As far as SB QB, is concerned, J. Cassidy should be the starter. I really hope coach P doesn't do that rotating thing again. Stick with your guy and let him get more comfortable each game. That guy is Cassidy!

The total shellacking last night by a good (but not great) team along with lowly Albany beating Bryant by more than SB could does not bode well for the season. This year may be yet another disappointing one for fans.

Moving to FBS so we can lose by a better score isn’t the answer. Having a coaching staff that can take the program to an FCS elite level, is.

I think I'm the only person that puts up stuff on this website that was on the sidelines for the Air Force game and the Utah State game so I feel that I have a pretty good perspective for both games I'm not going to defend or bash Coach P. but rather from my vantage point what I saw.

The offense as whole even though the score doesn't show it we actually played better against Utah State than Air Force

Carbone could not generate anything last year and I believe that our Stats support that while this year Fields was shaky however in the Bryant game last week SBU was on the one yard line and sneaked in but he took a very big hit that hurt his shoulder however they thought he was fit to start but his passes were all over the place ( by the way he was at times off last week as well) but he has more athleticism than Cassidy so that/s why he started once they realized he wasn't getting it done they brought in Cassidy who did a great job but he lacks the speed that Fields has.

The RB's last year could not gain yards against Air Force while White and Neget were able to get positive yards, By the way in the Bryant game 2 of our RB's got hurt Alex Indelagado tore his ACL while Ty'Son Lawton had a bad sprained ankle which prevented him from even traveling with the team.

The passing game against Air Force was terrible SBU did manage to get positive yards. The thing I was surprised that we should have tried getting the TE's more involved to loosen up the running game.

OL was really bad last year at Air Force and I felt our OL against Utah State was up and down but still only sub par as I felt they should have been driving the DL back more on the running plays.

Last year against Air Force they ran the triple option which we couldn't defend all game while against Utah State they ran a play every 3 seconds and SBU could not set up  their defensive set which enabled to run off huge chunks of yardage. In both cases because SBU never saw those offenses they never were able to defend, In the Utah State game our fierce tackling knocked out 3 Utah players from the game that never returned.

Special teams were bad against both teams however on the punt return td on the replay in the stadium you can definitely see the SBU player being held. On all the kick offs in the Utah State they were either in the end zone or we called a fair catch because the coaches thought we couldn't get to the 25 so they decided not to let him return any of the kickoffs.

In wrapping up we probably won't have around 3 players from this game because of injuries. SBU practices on Sundays after every game and takes off on Mondays the reason is to address all mistakes including the ones that the coaches make.

What I said here is my opinion and no one elses

Only watched pieces of the game. We were clearly outclassed. My vote is for Cassidy as the starting QB; overall, he showed a lot more composure, imo. With our running game much less strong than in recent years, our reliance on passing will be a lot more important, and I think Cassidy gives us the best chance in that department, imo.
How old a Seawolf am I? I followed them during their Final 4 DIII hoops run in 1977-78 (they were called the Patriots then)

As long as Fields is healthy he will be the starter with Cassidy in relief
