We will have our hands full with  Rhode Island.  That is a must win for us to stay in playoff contention .  We need 7 wins in the next 10 games to have a  shot and Rhode Island has gotten better as has Delaware.

The Rhody QB threw 6 INT's.

True, but i actually watched this game and a couple of the interceptions was not on him.. Carbone should have had a lot more than 2 interceptions. The Bulls defenders dropped a few of Carbone bad throws

USF is the 19th ranked team in the country and picked to win the AAC. On paper this was the best team Stony Brook has ever played by a lot. Their D line dominated our offensive line throughout the game. Lets see how we stack up against our peers before we start calling for personnel changes.

Also I watched a couple scrimmages and thought that Carbone was clearly the best option at QB FWIW.

The team showed a lot of guts and played their butts off! South Florida might be overrated but they do have a lot of talent (the most we will see all year). I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

The Seawolves D left everything on the field and I couldn't have been more proud, Lawless was awesome! The secondary seemed to be everywhere they needed to be and the D line pressured Flowers. Coach Priore had the Defense well prepared and had a great game plan slowing down Flowers and their high powered offense. Carbone seems to be a good leader and did everything he could but he should not be a starting QB in this conference. I have been a season ticket holder for 4 years and he has shown little improvement and its time to give someone else a chance. He had 2 easy interceptions dropped and unless it was a 6 yard cross he cannot throw an accurate ball. The offensive play calling in the first half was exactly what a normal offense does, throwing to TE, QB option runs, and even a pass to a RB. For years these basic plays have been missing from the playbook and offense was clicking in spite of not being able to complete anything in the air over 10 yards!! Keep it up!! The RB rotation needs to end, Bedell needs the ball, 15-20 times a game minimum! I literally called that he was gonna break one, he always does when he gets a feel for the game. After the 50 yard run, Coach goes to the other backs, little mind boggling to be honest. The Punt block was a great play and special teams had its ups and downs but the bottom line is Alston is our best punt and kick returner and why he wasn't in the game receiving the ball is another head scratcher. The senior is so explosive and for whatever reason the coaches don't get him involved more. Watch the sidelines during a game, he is the one pacing the sidelines, seems to have a lot of heart. In all its going to be a fun season, we definitely need to give Fields the ball. As for the coach, he is a great defensive coach but is horrible with the offense and its time for him to move on to that roll some where else.
Couldn't agree more about your points on Bedell and Alston!

You guys played great.  And tough.  I won't take anything away because you guys were prepared and played hard.  Played with confidence.

To the comment that USF might be overrated.  Yeah, I agree.  On paper, maybe this should have turned out like 2010.  If in fact our offense hadn't changed to that boring mess you guys kept stopping, it might have been different.

The only thing I didn't like is that cheap shots Beverette dispenses.  Everyone is thankful for no serious injuries, but that guy could have really hurt someone and it looked like that was his goal.

Best of luck to the Seawolves.  You guys played great and deserve a lot of praise.

1st UCF has over 20 more scholarships that they can offer being in a higher D1 program over SBU; UCF was subbing players throughout this game and we had are starters in most of the game.  The conditions on the field was very humid as hell & are players did not condition in these elements & this took a toll on the team in the 2nd half.

I was in the front row & i am telling you SBU players showed real grit on both sides of the ball & on special teams & i am extremely proud of this team; UCF had over 275 yards rushing last week; & we held them to half that..... very impressive.   Our team gave all they had & am so proud of these players.... they showed real heart.  You can't see everything for a TV set; when you sit there & see these players being worked on with the training staff & working through major issue & going back out to try to win this game......  It's a real eye opener.

This team covers much better in the passing game when they press WR; this was not an option last year.

Our line did give time for QB to pass; the problem was QB was inconsistent in his throws & sometimes took over 3 to 4 seconds to get rid of the ball.   He had players open but did not go to the 2nd or 3rd read often.  Confidence & making the right read is the biggest issue & this is something you can fix.

There is an issue with the inside running game...... UCF had very good LB who were very quick in stopping the running game.

SBU will half to use more of the short passing game to open up the long ball; we have players that can make this happen & it comes down to making the right call.

I look forward to seeing this team in action next week & look forward to seem them improve...

I was on the sidelines for this game and as the players were coming on and off the field you could see the intensity in there eyes they were hungry for this game I was also in the room when Coach P gave his speech before the game and at halftime and it made me want to get on the field that's how revved up he had the players and the coaches.

The other big thing about this game was how much this helps us with recruiting as we are going after several players from the Tampa Bay area for the 2018 class

good job SB!

i bet priore is feeling confident and/or validated after turning in this performance on the road against a better opponent, without hemphill.

but alas, it is early!!!

Based on Saturday, there's no reason we can't in 7 games and make the playoffs. No good reason not to. If this team could hang with the #19 FBS team, then there's no reason we can't win enough games to make the FCS playoffs again. Only if we play down to our competition and drop games.
