I know many of you are angry with the way we played against Richmond however if we have any hope of making it to the playoffs then we need a big crowd on Saturday to urge SBU on.

im a believer in that some wins can cover up a bad loss.  upsetting nova helped smooth over the new hampshire debacle at home.

win the next two and we are right back in the mix- especially if elon slips up, maybe we beat ualBAny.

If we win out we're in. Period. No real margin for error though. We can definitely win these last three games though with two of them being at home. Lets get it done gentlemen!

The attendance is shameful. That’s all I have to say. Absolutely embarrassing. I’m so ashamed of this student base.

I know it's not new, but I don't really like the blue alternates and this overall blue push throughout the athletic department. I'd rather have a silver/gray return as the accent color with an anthracite alternate uniform as opposed to these blue ones.

Attendance after mid October has always been pitiful. Save for a couple playoff games and a game or two against Liberty back in the Big South days attendance late in the season is always bad. We're in playoff contention, so it's not even like we're a bad team. The student attendance is putrid though and I'm really not sure how in the world they can improve it at this point. What were we doing right 7-8 years ago compared to now? The weather doesn't help though.

This is why FBS football would not be successful here. The football fan base and appetite for college football simply isn’t present at SBU, and won’t ever be.

Both of those would improve if we were FBS as they would for every other school that moved from FCS to FBS. The only consideration I have is that if we have such a hard time getting fans out *right now*, then should we be considering FBS at all? That's a fair question when our attendance is as underwhelming as it is. We don't need to have 10k every game before moving, but we should be much better than we are. A healthy program like ours playing a defacto playoff game like we're in today should have at least 7k in the stands.

Attendance might improve but not enough to avoid the program being a huge financial drain. Think UMass.

UMass is a special case in stupid. They refused to join the MAC for all sports and are now marooned as an independent because of it. If they joined the MAC they'd be in much better shape overall. As for being a financial drain, that's not the point of college athletics. Only a couple dozen programs are a net money maker for the university. Turning a profit isn't the point of having athletic programs. That isn't to say sports should burn money with reckless abandon, but making money isn't really the point.

I’m sure the cold temps kept some fans away today but I agree. I attended the game vs. Delaware last year and there was virtually no representation from the student body. (Not counting the marching band)

We are struggling with running the football again this week.  Down 10 in the 3rd. Game not over yet but it’s gonna be another tall task playing from behind.

one thousand percent agreed on the turnout- especially the students.  attendance will improve if there are students on campus on the weekends, which they arent.  question why that is

on the jerseys- i love em, but do like the scarlet & gray better, as that's more authentic i think for us.

team looks lifeless.  and FLO stopped airing the game for some reason mid-way.

Probably for the best. Nothing good left to see here anyway....

I don’t think it’s a Long Island issue. As far as I’m concerned, the local fans come out every single week. It’s all on the students. There’s zero hype for any home game ever. Even homecoming is just so everyone can get drunk in a lot and not even go to the actual game. Too many students in this school just don’t care about college sports of any kind — and that’s simply unacceptable.
