Oh no. No good. Is it raining during game time? It looks like we should be okay for game time!

Here we go! Game day is finally almost here!

Looking forward to a hard fought, smash mouth kind of game. Both defenses will be very strong. From hearing SBU's play by play guy on the radio it sounds like if there is a weak spot in SBUs defense it is at LB. For UND it is at corner.

Our O line is untested, but we have a full stable of running backs, so you're D line should give them plenty of work. I'll give us the edge, only because our passing game looks to be taking a step forward this year, but I don't think we can anticipate a high scoring game. I believe I read you guys have a pretty solid RB that ran all over New Hampshire last year, which should test our run defense (very strong, similar to Stony Brook); but I know there are some questions regarding the SBU QB and if he can take that next step forward. Our front 7 should def challenge him.

There will be a lot of kinks to work out in the first game of the season, but I'm going to be the homer and go 24-10 UND. So jacked that football is finally back!

should be interesting to see how Carbone performs after last season.  was not much said about his 2015 performances on the SBU football website.  hopefully his work this summer has meant a big step up in his performance.  as we learned in previous years, you can not win in the CAA without a talented QB, regardless of how many running backs you have or how good your defense is.  we should get a good glimpse of how this season is going to play out on Thursday.

Not much was said because of Carbone dismal season..We don't really have a choice but to go with Carbone for this season, but one would think he looses that starting position to  F/Tyquell Fields if his poor performance continues again this season..

Should he be pulled if he is struggling again early in the season or keep him as our starter???? Time will tell!!

I'm sure we will find out early on tonight. If we start going 3 and out and their defense shuts down our running game its lights out .

wow one play changed the entire game.

and then almost did a 180 with bedell's fumble.

i hate to say it- but behind that 13-9 score is the defense scoring 6 and giving up 7.  the offense scored 7 and gave up 2.

The O line needs to get better. This may sound crazy considering the overall poor numbers, but I thought the passing game showed a ton of promise tonight. Outside of a few miscommunications, and a couple batted down passes at the line, I thought Carbone and Co. were pretty effective. Count me as cautiously optimistic for the future of this Felus/Bache offense

There's a lot of things they need to clean up, but its win over a very solid opponent.

Good luck to North Dakota the rest of the way!

a few things:

the live stream video and commentary were great.  kudos to SBU for finally getting it right and producing a quality event on the computer.  also, I was able to get the game on my Bluetooth via Shark 94.3 for the drive home from work. all in all, that was fantastic

I did not think the ND offense was very good.  clearly their QB sucked.  Give some credit to our D for making things difficult for ND's offense all night long, but frankly, I expected more from a ranked opponent on the offensive side of things.

Our O line is a work in progress, sounded like our new O line coach was moving guys around a  bit during the game to find something that would work.  we have to be paitient here.

Carbone hit some good passes, and missed some easy throws.  that's got to improve.  but he stayed in the pocket more last night than last season, no happy feet or running too soon.

Bedell and Gowins should improve as the O line improves.  Gowins has to protect the ball

I was pleasantly pleased that it looks like Coach Feles will not be following the Coach P way of running the offense.  we came out throwing the ball and I think that gave Carbone some confidence

All in All" very exciting game.

Great game but as others have stated we have some work to do. I was traveling so could not in attendance, but I have to tell you (as grateful as I was to at least be able to see the game on line) the streaming and play calling announcing was just sub par. The audio was horrible, and during the game on several occasions they kept on showing SB commercials while the game was actually happening. It really looked like a HS game being done by the video guys in high school. Can we get someone to at least ask these guys to do their own "game film review" because to me it was not good. Heck, they could not even show what down it was on the screen

As to the game- I think the Special Teams Unit under Tony Thompson did an outstanding job (and not taking away the Chairman's point about the defense getting us 6 points- it was actually  the special team play that blocked the punt) and the field position play Coach P decided was going to be a major factor. The Directional punts and Aussies looked a lot better, and Lucansky's KO's looked a lot deeper but could not see his hangs (again the camera angles were just really poor). Popek, still has issues with the Bump on the hash marks and looked like he went outside the hash on the left instead of staying inside- but again not being able to see the angle, a friend of mine told me he pushed it about a half yard left.

Carbone and the receiving core definitely missed on several plays but will attest that to first game nerves. As SBUFan stated, the O line needs some work and was really outclassed and out muscled by North Dakota team and on just about every running play I saw our O line guys standing in our backfield. I cant put that on Carbone. If they cant fix a different blocking scheme against Temple it will be along game! Beverette had an awesome game (but did miss the tackle on ND's first TD). Whoever called the bonehead play late in the fourth quarter to run the ball, clearly shows that we have not been a situation in  close game to know how to manage the clock. Great team victory no matter what it still a win- and at least called off the hang em high crowd going for Coach P's head. And yes its a long season-see ya in Philly

Last year we beat UNH only to go into a skid of losing after that. This is a win I didn't expect  so it is a plus for us. Now scratch out 6 or 7 more wins  in the next 10 games.   Attendance was about par for the course 6153  per the game stats.  We need to do better with that going forward

NY, I disagree, I thought the live stream was very good.  a VERY BIG improvement from previous years.  you may not have watched the last 2-3 seasons on live stream, but it really sucked.  I did see "down" info on the screen, not all the time, but about 50% of the time.  yes, once in a while, a commercial abruptly cut in, but it was removed after a second or two. the commentators were good.  my only gripe is that the use of replays was limited.  could it be better?  yes!  but its a big step up.  maybe your internet connection was not very good.  I was at work on the west coast and the feed was perfect on full screen mode on my 24-inch monitor

Congrats on the win. It was pretty much the hard nosed defensive football game we all expected.

I was very surprised at how poorly our QB played, much of which I attribute to the SB defense. They were as advertised ... very tough. Though even against a tough D, I though Keaton played very poorly. Our defense did pretty much everything I expected of them. Front 7 were solid, secondary needs to improve.

Tough to watch our top wideout go down. Sounds like it may be a broken leg. I was yelling at the TV on that one; he already had the first down and we were in good scoring position. Instead of securing the ball and going down, he tried to extend for a few extra inches and practically handed the ball to the defense. If he doesn't do that. UND likely scores, wins and doesn't lose their top WR for the year.

Also surprised me that our punt coverage didn't improve prior to the block, given how close SB had gotten a few other times.

Take the win and run with it, really hope you guys do some damage and surprise some folks this year. That defense is for real.
