We had Hofstra and Iona on our schedule for the last few years.  Both of those programs folded.  The last two years, we've only had 5 home games, because there were 2 holes in our schedule, only 1 of which we could fill with a D2.  Yesterday's game was SUPPOSED to be homecoming against Hofstra, but without that being an option, they changed it to the lafayette game.

Other than that, we've had two money games against FBS schools, one conference game (and we can't control that presbyterian sucks), and the brown game, which is always a very exciting game.  Considering the circumstances, I have absolutely no objections with our scheduling.

While I understand SBU's scheduling plight - I don't buy for a second that your ONLY options were D2 schools. Dozens of programs were affected by Northeastern, Hofstra, and Iona's foldings. You're telling me not ONE D1 school was available at that point? Many only finalize their OOC year to year. Give me Marist, give me even a MEAC or NEC program. To tell me that we were the only school in the NCAA with a gap on that week just seems unlikely.

I've talked to people in athletics.  This IS what happened.  It's why we've had a hole in our home schedule for the past few years.
