2011: Game 7 - SBU @ VMI 10/22
« on: October 19, 2011, 05:36:00 pm »
Hey guys. Just wanted to hear your thoughts about the VMI game.

I think this is a very important game for us. We should take it as seriously as possible because we got CCU the week after

That's actually a really good point. We don't want to go into the coastal game with a loss in conference.

I haven't been following VMI very closely. I've been impressed with Essington so far, but I'm not sure if the competition has been strong enough to really say. I'm also a little concerned by Maysonet's play. Priore said he had a stinger and didn't practice for a week and a half before Lafayette. Hopefully he is healthy and reading for some big games.

I am also concern with maysonet, he's had 3 fumbles in the last 2 games, don't recall him having this problem last year. I think we will be successful this weeknd. VMI is a well coached team, but lack the size and speed.

I think we will be ok against VMI.  We have always handled them pretty well , I see us winning by 2 TD's.

Winning might not be the problem. I just think we need to play our best this weekend. The team should be as ready as possible for next week and the last few games of the season. I believe Liberty is going to be tougher than ever, we need to be ready.

Just what I asked for. Stony Brook rolls over VMIA 42-14 at Lexington, VA. Next week's game against CCU doesn't look as scary anymore. Our guys are playing GREAT!!!

Essington has proved to be a great replacement QB. Perhaps, that's what we need for this team to play awesome!!

It was a very balanced win.  Now to stop the holding and roughness penalities.  Those cost us yardage and gave VMI  a score. cant do  that against Coastal or Liberty.   Other than that the team played very well on the road.  Essington looked good  again.

Yes -   GWU  beat them 27-26 on  a closing seconds  FG !   Coastal has 2 Big South losses and we control our own destiny from here on out.

I've been really impressed by Essington. Coastal will be a good test for him. CCU's Josh Norman is one of best cornerbacks in FCS.
