SBUFan.. According to the NFL Pro Day calendar SB has its Pro Day on March 28th- at 830. Now, in true Priore fashion here's the really funny part. SB Football Practice start's on the 28th at 7:30!  Is there anyone running the calendar up there or are they just clueless? Looks like we are off to once again another great season of goofy "calls" and non focus! Gezzz.

all I can say is WOW !!

Typical Priore style.. 2 more years minimum, of coach P as HC, get used to it!

Where does the 2 years come from?  Does he have a guaranteed, no-cut contract?  Is there no buyout clause?   Does a SUNY school not fire a coach as an unwritten rule?

Sad, but had to post this.

Contract runs through 2017-18 fiscal year.  In other words, 2017 will be his last.

From what  I'm hearing is he will be back beyond 2017 season maybe as long as 2021

I know none of you want to hear this but unless this team really implodes in 2017 he will be here

Over the last few years he has brought in several new coaches, he just had his best recruiting class ever, other then the first game of the season the rest of the season are winnable games and he has the President and AD on his side

I know our QB situation is very shaky at best however the coaching staff feels it will be much better than last year

I'm sure sad to see that extension take place, but this was probably a factor too: "Stony Brook, which has won at least five games in each of Priore's eight seasons, also has produced success in the classroom. In its final two seasons in the Big South Conference, Stony Brook garnered an award from the FCS Athletics Directors Association for having the conference's highest Academic Progress Rate (APR)."

Did I just hear 2021!!?!? Shoot me now...

The only thing I will say is that we shouldn't boot Priore unless we've identified a clear replacement candidate. Hemphill would've been the perfect guy, but we let him walk  >:( >:(  I wouldn't be surprised if he has an upper tier G5 head coaching gig in the American or Mountain West by 2021. The guy could coach defense and was the only reason we haven't been 2-9 these past three seasons.

After watching the SBU scrimmage yesterday while Carbone looked a little better Fields is still not ready so in my opinion if a DI transfer becomes available they better go get him.

Fields got 1 1/2 years under his belt to improve. If you dont see any improvement from last season we're in trouble again this season...As far as bringing in a div1 transfer, forget it. At this years signing day coach P said he was  absolutely not going to bring in another QB and the Fields and Carbone had to fight it out for the starting position..

I will try and make the Spring game to see how they perform, and i will surely report it back to the Forum..

Hammer if a DI QB with at least 3 years of eligibility becomes available don't be surprised if Coach P changes his mind because he has to win this year one way or the other and the answer at this point in time is not the 4 QB's on their Roster

If neither are ready then they better go all out and get a transfer of some kind because we need better QB play. Full stop. I'll take the chance on Fields not being ready. Carbone can't cut it.

Checking out the SB website under the "news" part of the website, I just read that on 4/11/2017- our Football team LOST to BOTH Maine and William & Mary- and on the same day! WOW! Our boys must really be tired- but this should show that even something like this is that across the board we lack even some of the basic "blocking and tackling" when it comes to not just football but the operations of it.  No doubt you guys that have an "In" with SH will be able to fix this! Just goofy!

Coach P was on the board when SH was chosen to be SB next AD.. There's no way SH is going to suggest to President Stanley to terminate coach P contract early.. Coach P will be here for the full duration of his contract, even if SB loses every game for the next 2 years.. What happens after coach P contract expires??? is a mystery at this point..
