SBU Football players in the AAF...
« on: November 28, 2018, 01:09:33 pm »
Notice that once again, the SBUFB on Twitter and even Coach P have not "promoted" any of the guys just signed to the AAF rosters (Kyle Morgan, Marvin Hart and Connor Davis). I know its not the NFL- but geezzz not even a mention?

I knew a new league was starting, but I totally forgot about the AAF until I saw this thread. It's entirely possible the coaches are oblivious we have players competing in that league too. NFL is obviously the goal and gets all the spotlight.

well, with not a LOT of NFL guys in the league right now from SBU the goal should be to try and at least get some of our Alumni's some free press! Heck we have done it for the other sports programs here when people are playing in lessor known leagues so we should do it for the ballers. Guess I'll pop a note to SH. He's at least someone who would call the knuckleheads over in marketing to try and do something.

As for the coaches, you may be right, but am sure at some point they were contacted.  Sad though that Coach P didn't. This league has a BUNCH of P5 players on it and even some former NFL guys.  www.aaf.com and has some serious $$$ behind it

Are you surprised? He is the most mysterious coach in the CAA, if not the FCS.

I am probably one of the few people who still thinks Coach P is the right person to lead SBO Football so I have a question for all of you.

The question I have for all of you who blast him and the AD (for keeping him) is how many of you will crawl away from your computers where no one knows who you are and ask it to their face on National Signing Day where we gather to hear about the recruiting class and the state of the SBU program. I'm sure none of you will because in years' past nobody ever asks Sean or Coach P any tough questions and that is sad because you all have a lot to say here so why not ask it there.

well clearly you don't know who I am but SH does VERY well! As a matter of fact we've had GREAT conversations over the years BOTH in person and on follow-up emails, and BOTH positive and negative AS HAVE OTHER PLAYERS PARENTS. I know for instance this past week about 10 of the seniors parents engaged with SH on "things to improve upon" and SH takes all our comments as he should as the AD.

And yes, as LATE as last Friday night at the hotel when we drove all the way down to the game, we had a very good conversation. Coach P certainly knows my feelings, as does our son's position coach and was a four year starter.  I don't have hide behind ANY keyboard or come out on NSD. The $$$ we gave to the school and Coach K knows us quite well. The fan forum should be a tool used to provide BOTH positive and negative comments, and yes thoughts as to how things are going.

The sad part I bet is that the "marketing" gurus on SBU football don't come on here to see how the "customers" feel.. Maybe if the coaches and marketing folks get more "engaged" with the players and fans this board may not be the only place folks can engage.
