The discussion here isn’t about any one player. It’s about the direction of the program (past, present, future) under the HC and his assistants.

These discussions kind of remind me of the movie Groundhog Day with Bill Murray. Year after year we come on here bemoaning the overall place our team has gone and am sure if we just cut and pasted forum posts from the past- we'll all be able to see the same resounding theme (who wants to guess what that is?).

We complain about a true WO (Carbone) who came into the program as a WO but the "crack staff" back in 2013/2014 could not recruit a Scholarship QB in all of the country-or even in the Tri-State area (and let's not forget the whole QB with CB and John Kinder craziness). We then offer two QB"s and it takes them 2-3 yrs to get into the "groove" while other true Freshman QB's in the CAA and throughout the US start for much bigger programs with more diverse offenses. But no doubt just as in Ground Hog Day we all wake up on Sunday morning thinking the next game will be different. Oh well- hey maybe SH can bring in Bill Murray for OC-no doubt it will be different then with our current HC.

Bingo. Thank you ry1nik..

There isn't a single soul on this forum who can tell me coach P is the best man for the job here at SB. I'm quite certain, with the money he is earning, SB can find a batter leader who has strong ties to recruiting in the tri state area. I'm not buying it we cant find a better HC

On the coaching situation let’s say for the moment that the SBU job is open in my opinion no FBS assistant coach would want to come here since anyone good is probably making the same or more than our HC. The only schools that have sent their HC to the FBS are JMU and North Dakota State plus the College’s that moved their program to the next level and kept their HC.

Lyle left SBU because he had aspirations to be a HC in the FBS and his best option was to go there as an assistant

So now the options are assistant coaches from a top FCS program like a JMU but again if their any good they would go to a FBS program as a assistant

It comes down to money for not only the HC but his assistants with the cost of living scaring many coaches away

Having said all of this I have someone in mind but I will keep to myself
