2011: Game 5 - SBU vs Presbyterian 10/8
« on: October 04, 2011, 06:47:49 pm »
Presbyterian comes to Stony Brook this saturday. Presby's season opener against wofford was impressive, but I really don't think they have the size to compete with Stony Brook for 60 minutes.

Looking at the previous games of Stony Brook vs Presbyterian we can say that Stony Brook should be able to get this one too. This will be a nice game. I am hoping for another great crowd at LaValle with many High School bands coming in for "Long Island High Schol Night".

Also, Thank you for creating this forum for us. Our own space, finally!

Finally we have our own board. Great Job!

with Coulter out for the season, i think our passing game will look a little bit better even though kyle looked just as bad during the lafeyette game.

The passing game can only be better than against Lafayette. I think most of our receivers have had injuries of varying degrees. Hopefully a healthy quarterback and a rested WR core will lead to better on field performance.

I really think Presby will struggle with Stony Brook's size. Here's the two deep for their front 7:
6-2 ......235........ Sr. 6-1 ......225.......R-Fr.
6-5 ......240.......R-Jr. 6-2 ......280........ Fr.
6-2 ......275........ Sr. 6-0 ......275 ...... R-So. 6-1 ......265........So.
6-2 ......231...... R-So. 6-3 ......230........ Fr.
6-0 ......195 ........ So. 6-0 ......185 ...... R-So.
6-2 ......190 ....... R-Jr. 6-0 ......215.......R-Fr.
5-10 .....225........ Sr. 5-11 .....187........So.

Coming from a CCU Alum, if you guys don't run over under around and through Presby I will be surprised.

After a week off, and (hopefully) an easy win over Presbyterian (to rest the starters), and a game against a Div II school next week, the injuries will have had time to heal and the WRs will be 100%

Love having our own board!!  If things hold true SBU ought to win this one.  They probably won't have to throw the ball much but hopefully will take a step to improve that aspect of the game.  I also hope the pass defense shows some improvement.

Thanks to those who took the intative to crete such a board. Another indicator of the growth of the university, the athletics program and the sense of pride and spirit here at SB. Thank you for your leadership.

It seems that a lot of the problems SBU had were receivers running before taking control of the ball. Norrell in particular. Hopefully that was dealt with during the bye.

I don't what the problem was at Lafayette, but Stony Brook will need to figure it out if they want to beat Liberty, Coastal, etc.

I'm waiting for Norrell blow up. He was starting in games in the pac 10 as a true freshman!

21-10 at the half. What TD throws from Essington. Phenomenal improvement in the passing game.

Much better passing game for sure. 42-24 Final. Great game by the Seawolves. Next week its easy so I'm looking for a 3-3 season already.

Very weak crowd tonight... After homecoming, this always happens!
