Reyes will get a shot...not sure he will get drafted but I would be surprised if he wasn't in someones camp.    He's got great size and ball skills.  He could end up with 100 tackles this year.

What do you guys think about Kevin Norrell? I don't think he'll get drafted, but hoping he can get a training camp invite and make a roster.

Bamiro is a jr would have to think he gets drafted on size alone, Jets drafted Ducasse from Umass I think in 2nd or 3rd round. Norrel should get a look. With recent success with 1aa talent in the nfl ( Victor Cruz ) some of these guys will get some looks. Reyes is draft worthy, and Maysonette should be a 3rd or 4th round pick. The rb pool in div 1 is not what it has been the last few yrs and this kid can play for anyone in the nation.

I know that Reyes has been getting a lot of attention.  Teams love his "Box Safety" mentality, and with the NFL going the direction it is, tough DB's who want to stop the run are always wanted.

Also gaining some attention is Dudley and Coats.  They will definitely not get drafted, but will draw looks and will eventually play somewhere next Fall.

Norrell is a very solid player, but to be blunt, just doesn't have NFL measurables.  He's listed at 5'10", 200lbs.  Not quite sure about that...  Don't get me wrong, he's got a ton of heart and makes some NFL caliber moves, but ultimately he's a smaller dude without INSANE speed.  If you're going to be his size, you better run a <4.3 40.  A neat intangible is you can see the other WR's and DB's seem to feed of him on the sidelines.  He talks, they listen.  He gets excited, they key on that.  Thats just being a great teammate off the field which leads to great things on the field.

Bamiro and Coker are being watched for next year, but it's still early to talk about them.

The best thing about it is that while NFL teams/scouts are watching Maysonet, they are also watching our entire squad.  Prior to the last few years, the only time a scout came to Lavalle was if he was lost.  Just having those dudes around open up opportunities for our guys.

Norrell is a playmaker whose skills translate to the slot at the next level. As far as measurables go Victor Cruz did not have nfl size or speed when he came out of Umass. Point is all these guys need is a camp invite and from there talent counts.

From ESPN.com

"McShay: Miguel Maysonet, RB, Stony Brook
A native of Puerto Rico, Maysonet grew up in Long Island and played at Hofstra before transferring to Stony Brook. He's looking to become the next Puerto Rican player to make it to the NFL from the small-school level (after Victor Cruz), and right now he projects as a Day 3 pick. He measures 5-9, 205, with adequate top-end speed (reportedly in the 4.5 range), runs low to the ground and behind his pads, and is patient to the hole with good burst through it. Maysonet has more power than his size would indicate, and his instincts are improving. After rushing for 220 yards and two TDs in Stony Brook's 23-3 win over Army on Oct. 1, his stock is rising."

It will be great to be watching TV one Sunday next year and see or hear Maysonet's name on the screen, along with "Stony Brook." Not to take anything away from the coaching staff, but the SB football program would be quite different (and not in a positive way) had Hofstra not dropped football. So glad it did.

If Todd McShay says Masonette will go on the 3rd day of the draft, then that means he should go on day 2. This is the same guy who said RGIII would be a receiver in the NFL.
