Masengo Kabongo
« on: November 08, 2011, 04:19:59 pm »
Does anyone know what's going on with him? I just noticed that Kevin Hauter has been moved from end to tackle replacing Kabongo on the depth chart. has he been hurt and if so can he get a medical redshirt and still have two years of eligibility remaining? As the 15 ranked d tackle prospect in the country coming out of high school, I had high expectations for him this year.

I dont know about Kabongo  but Hauter is a beast. We sit just behid the defecencesive bench  when they come off the field.   Hauter has a look in his eyes  that is really scary. Reminds of  me a smaller veersion of I believe  Brian Bosworth.     You have to double team him  to  control him he is tough and quick .

I noticed on saturday that Kabongo wasn't in pads so I'm assuming he's taking a medical redshirt. I looked up the rules on wikipedia and they said a player can take a medical RS if they have performed in less than 30% of a teams games and none coming after the midpoint of the season. Kabongo played in 3 of 11 games the last of which was the 6th game of the season, so I think we'll see Kabongo keep his junior eligibility next season.
