Looking forward to seeing you in Tampa

USF Bulls fan here...

It won't be the first time we've met.

Played in 2010.  It was a pretty good 2010 team that was coming off the firing of the head coach.  USF spiraled through the bottom in a few years, but rebounded midway through the 2015 season.

Last year it was a very explosive offense that led to a 11-2 record.  A few NFL draft picks later the team tries to maintain that level of performance under, once again, a new coach.  This time Charlie Strong of Texas and Louisville fame.

Are any of you planning on traveling down?

Any questions about the Bulls, the stadium, school or area?

I have posted a link to your board from our board, I hope we can stir up some interaction.

If you're mod will allow it, here is a link to my home at TheBullsPen.com

Just hoping you guys dont beat our team up too much..

We dont have a QB who is proven as of yet so, I have no idea what we are capable if doing to your defense.

We lost our defensive coordinator recently to Wake Forest so, have no idea what to expect on D

Our HC is a pound and ground kind of coach and is very predictable. Hopefully this season he turns over the reins to the OC and mix things up with more than 3 or 4 plays per game..

We are expecting a blowout game and thats fine, just dont want to see any of our boys coming home in crutches!

IIRC, we were up 14-0 at the end of the first quarter in the 2010 game and that was when the Big East/AAC was still a part of the Power conference structure/BCS.

This game wont be close with our inept head coach still in charge and our Defensive coordinator gone to Wake Forest (we're a 2 win team these past couple seasons without Hemphill I believe).

If we can manage to score a TD and keep USF under 50 points, this game is a win in my book. USF will likely be coming into this game not only ranked, but the favorite for the NY6 access bowl slot. Their team is loaded and Charlie, despite his failure at Texas is a decent coach I believe.

I may go to this road game since we have family in New Port Richey . That is only about 30 minutes or so from Tampa .  I would  expect a blowout maybe like 45-7 if  that.  Just hope no one gets hurt and we move on .

Thanks for your replies.

I hope those that do travel, have a safe trip to Tampa.

I traveled to the Bulls game at San Jose State.  We started very slowly, I have a feeling we'll be better prepared for the home opener.

You're going to find us heavy on ground and pound.  It seems we will not turn away from the run up the middle much.

Good luck and may both teams stay healthy.

Hey Brad! That USF game in 2010 was the first Stony Brook football I ever watched. I will say this Stony Brook team is MUCH better than the 2010 team. Our 2010 would have struggled to win a single game in the CAA. However it looks like the same could be said for the Bulls. I'm looking forward to the game. I think my Seawolves will keep it a lot closer than people expect, and I hope we can give you guys a scare.
