Lets get hype for this game guys! we gotta come out on top of JMU this week! They are coming out of a domination against Elon and we have to stay on top of their offense. What do we need to do to prepare for this game? We snuck in a win against URI yesterday and we need to come out swingin if we are gonna have a chance against JMU. Are we worried about any injuries? Anyone feel free to respond! I'm gonna be gettin pumped all week for this game!!!

Nobody expects a win but keeping it within two scores would be an achievement.

I do have to question why they chose JMU of all teams to be the homecoming game, but I'm all for it. I'll likely be coming back up to campus for this one. If we don't shatter the attendance record I'm going to be disappointed.

What do we need to prepare for this game tho? Like did we suffer any injuries? And the main thing is that we gotta stay positive and optimistic. If we come into this game already thinking of the outcome we will lose it. We just gotta hit the run game hard to start and drive the ball down. We also need to make tackles on D or else they will run all over us.

Ty Son Lawton and Isaiah Givens were both hurt during the Rhode Island game, hopefully we get them back for the game. Our running game is still going to be good and they need to watch Fields after everyone saw what he did to win the game on ESPN. Lets go SB lets win the Homecoming!!!

JMU won't be easy, but there's no need to chalk this one up as a loss. Our last two games against them were quite close (I'm convinced we win that playoff game in 17' if Carbone doesn't throw 5 INTs). Plus it's homecoming and Fields brings an athleticism we've never had at that position before. I like our chances of at the very least competing with them for four quarters.

Don't think this is a good plan. Here are the rushing stats against JMU for the (5) games this season:
WVU - 34 rushing yards, 1.4 average
St. Francis - 79 rushing yards, 2.7 average
Morgan State - 79 rushing yards, 2.3 average
Chattanooga - 84 rushing yards, 2.9 average
Elon - 33 rushing yards, 1.4 average

I think you will likely have more yards than that, simply because your QB will get some yards via running on intended pass plays. But I doubt you all go in with a game plan of slam it up the middle. JMU's defensive weakness right now is secondary and pass rush. Not saying you all can't compete, but in terms of a matchup, JMU will likely fair better against you than someone who throws more (say Towson). I think JMU would love to just fight it in the trenches with you.

Thanks for the stats, JMUFan. The problem here is SB is a pound and ground team, up the gut style of offense. If we cant move JMU defensive line, Tyquel Fields will have to stick with throwing the ball, and that might not be a bad thing. Our HC, Chuck Priore just loves to run. If he sticks with his stubborn approach, we will lose by 21. If goes with more of an option style of play, ie; Fields can either run or pass we stand a much better chance. Our D line is stout. Our CBs will get burnt if JMU plays anywhere as Utah State played.. This should be a fun game and the Weather looks good for Football.

Most Colleges get a lot less prospects and teams at a game than what SBU will be getting this Saturday especially during the HS season. In addition SBU has been averaging 20 to 25 prospects at every home game.
