Would you all go for two if you score?

I would, but this is Coach P we're talking about here. He's about as conservative as they come. We're kicking the PAT.

He dropped it.....

So much wrong there. I really wish we had just gone for the win in regulation. Oh well. Entertaining game. Haven't seen us play this well offensively in a while. So at least there's that.

Only watched the last Q/OT, after the Yankees game. Fields was stellar and is the real deal. #81 needs to make that catch and dropped an earlier one too. Tough loss. I wanted them to run one more play at end of regulation, but clutch FG. I know the strategic call is to play D first in OT, but I would have taken ball first, just due to the mojo the Offense had from the late FG. SBU May bump up a few places in the rankings with this effort.
How old a Seawolf am I? I followed them during their Final 4 DIII hoops run in 1977-78 (they were called the Patriots then)

Really like the offensive playcalling today- I think Priore et al can finally open up the offense now that we have a QB who can make deep throws. Carbone just didn't have the arm strength or accuracy to make a bunch of those throws that Fields made today. I can't say enough about Fields today- his accuracy on the intermediate and deep balls was absurdly good. I think the game is starting to slow down for him.

While it stinks that we lost, I am still really excited about the rest of the season.

Tip my hat to JMU- DiNucci is a tough as nails QB. They have a very good team- their RB are also very talented.

I thought he caught the TD at first. It looked like more clutchness. Then the whites stormed the field.

He had it, but couldn't hang onto it. If it is a TD, I definitely think we should have gone for 2 and the win.

lots of caused turnovers. couldve won maybe if we hit that late FG.

nice late drive (like the URI game). fields is really developing nicely. the team is starting to look different with a mobile QB that can throw downfield and stretch a defense.  lots to be excited about from the way this team competed tonight.

JMU pass rush is strong, particularly late in the game. ualbAnY lost. box says 12,800 attendance.  ageye is super fast.

Sam Kamara’s injury really could have been a fame changer. JMU ran the ball way too well and without him to stuff the run they were able to move the ball downfield a lot through the run.

Not having Kamara hurt, but his backup played admirably and made some plays. This game was within reach which is all you can ask for when playing a team as talented as JMU. We scored more points on JMU than any other program in the last four seasons other than FBS North Carolina in 2016 (the year they won the natty).

Eventually though you have to start converting moral victories into actual victories. One thing that has always frustrated me with coach P is that his teams have a tendency to play up/down to the competition. So we'll look great in a game against a good opponent, but then lose stupid games like Albany and SEMO last year, or Sacred Heart a few years ago.

This win should give us hope for the rest of the season for sure, but it won't be a cakewalk. The road ahead of us is still stacked and we'll need to finish 8-4 with a ranked win or two to be comfortably in the postseason I say. Ty'son Lawton was spectacular last night and really proved he can be the lead back if White can't hang onto the football. That depth is good.

One thing you really have to think about though is that if Fields is this good, why the hell was he on the bench behind Carbone last year? This was something I anticipated. He has a much stronger arm than Carbone and was making passes Carbone could never even dream of, plus he's got the athleticism. Why wasn't he playing sooner if he had this in him? You really have to wonder.

I agree Fields should have started earlier but there was no real reason to just randomly take Carbone out as starter unless he was really sucking - he “led” the team to 10-3 and last year they were 7-3 before he implored.

When did Kamara get injured? Do we know what is wrong with him and when will he return.

You always play your best people. Competitive teams have an open competition every year at every position. It's clear that we weren't doing that at quarterback. It's possible Fields just needed more time, but it's natural to wonder why we stuck with Carbone for so long when we had a talent like Fields riding the bench. Fields is our best qb since Essington. Carbone was serviceable at best.

Do u really think they dont play their best players and they arent a competitive program?. Campi has insight that most dont have and is very close to the program. He had said quite a few times that Fields wasnt ready the last couple of yrs. The is college football where you earn your spot. QB's usually take the longest. Although I think Carbone was thrust into action early when he wasnt ready his freshman yr, he turned out to have a very nice career at SB with two playoff appearences, a playoff win and some great moments. What if's never happen.
