« on: October 18, 2018, 01:37:49 pm »
It's time for homecoming. Lets pack the house. Taking my fiancee to the game for the first time since our college days in 2012! :)

As for seniors, they account for 20 of the 22 offensive touchdowns this season. On the defensive side, the two leading tacklers — Noah McGinty and Shayne Lawless — are also upperclassmen. And even more important than racking up numbers, the Seawolves’ senior syndicate accounts for that all-important intangible of any athletic team, leadership, with 20 on the roster.

Another engine driving the team’s success is the defense. Stony Brook has scored a national best six defensive touchdowns and one special teams touchdown so far this fall.

I want to say the stands should be PACKED, but they probably won't be unfortunately. They weren't last year, though there should be a great crowd regardless. I'd love to see an attendance figure of 13k, but I won't hold my breath.

Weather looks good (60ish down to mid 50's during the game) with clear skies, team is  doing well, good opponent, homecoming, let's see something very close to  a sellout.

Dominating run game so far, dominating defense as well. Looking really good. Every week I feel like the run game is going to let us down eventually, but so far we've been able to move it on pretty much everyone save for Towson and Air Force. Very, very nice thus far. Averaging somewhere close to 6 yards a carry I think. Shame URI wasn't ranked higher for this one.

Crowd seems decent, but not a sellout. This is the kind of crowd we should have on an average weekend when the team is good.

Box score shows  attendance at 12701 . I really doubt that number . The crows was good but not that good.

They're always fudging the homecoming numbers to make it seem like we're constantly selling out and increasing the record attendance. I don't think we've actually set a legitimate attendance record since 2014 Homecoming. Could be wrong though. Having 2000 additional seats can make the stadium look emptier than it actually is.

The 2000 extra seats, new concession stand, and beer tent make it really hard to judge. I think last night was probably record setting though.

Awesome environment. I love what the athletics department is doing.
