Not bad so far. Offensive line is looking great. Defense is playing well, though I wasn't the biggest fan of most of that first drive. The scoop n score was awesome and a great break for us.

My only concern is the defense has been on the field for a very long time. That will wear on the players if that keeps up all game.

defense looks stout.  sound tackling.  giving up some plays, but making bigger plays to stay ahead. GO SB

nice TD boys.  the bone, play action, off the back foot, lobs a 30 yard strike right into wingate's basket.

the bone strikes again!  a 35 yard toss (thats 35 in the air) to washington for a 45 yard TD, right in stride.  we answered Richmond's only TD.

It's a beautiful thing when you run the ball well!! I do worry when we can't, but as long as we can push people off the ball, we'll do well in the CAA this year.

and it's going to get tougher over the next month...

they stacked the box late in the game and gowins countered for a 53 yard TD.  finished up with 20 unanswered points.  we averaged something like 7 yards per carry.

wanted to add that our defense is disciplined to the sidelines, playing the contain really well.  and quick.  we kept UR from turning the corner.   good solo tackling.

also the stat that stands out to me is third down, we held them to few conversions (3/15 i think). nice game tonight.

the bone had a good night- he looked really great.  and our receivers really created separation.

separately, what do you guys think of liotine JR returning kicks? GO SB

Really a total game tonight. Our defense has to be in the top 5 in FCS after tonight. They keep scoring points and they bend but don't break .   We were running on all cylinders tonight  now onto to Villanova

Just to add my two cents:

-- I'd call yesterday's performance a master class in executing the running game.  OL superb and RBs refusing to succumb to the first tackler; many yards after first contact.  I'd match our tandem of RBs against any other team pair in the country.

-- Carbone has finally figured out that he's never going to be Tom Brady.  But, he avoided serious errors, was totally under control, and when the opportunities were there, he hit Wingate and Washington perfectly

-- The defense was great across the board, especially against the run.  Just thibnk they're going to have to figure out how to avoid long pass successes pn defense if we're going to survive the likes of Villanove, JMU, etc.

-- Another excellent sign was getting costly penalties under control.  Good job last night; must continue to replicate.

-- AREA OF CONCERN: INJURIES
The team seems to be a little beat up right now, with several key players out (Ellick and Scarbrough unavailable yesterday; don't know seriousness).  It looked to me like Brandon Lopez (DL) and Nick Anderson (WR) may have been injured badly yesterday.  That would mean 2 key players each at DL and WR may be out for next week, and maybe longer.  I know that the team is deep, but those losses may be hard to overcome.

I talked to two Richmond grads (they played football) at the game last night. Both of them simultaneously bought up team speed and noted SB seemed faster at every position and even on special teams.
Our D  seemed particularly quick attacking Richmond's running game.
Lets keep it up v Villanova!
