The more I think about it the more upset I get. That loss is inexcusable. Facing an unranked UNH team at home —- should be an automatic W, what the hell are we gonna do now when we play Villanova and Towson? That Game is one we needed to win. They’re literally one of our easiest opponents in the second half of the schedule. There’s literally zero room for error now.

O.K.  I think you guys have sufficiently (And correctly) covered the importance of this loss, and I agree that the play-calling was atrocious!!  I'm still steaming over the series in UNH territory where the Seawolves started with two running plays to the short side of the field (in effect giving UNH the sideline as another defender) and then ran up the middle on third down--YIKES!!  I'd like to see Fields use his running talents more often: perhaps a few QB draws or some deception with a boot-leg once in awhile.  That said, I think Tyquell has earned his stripes as a reliable accurate passer, and we should be willing to take more advantage of that--not running into the line when the box is stacked!!

On another topic:  what the hell is going on with Isaiah White?  He seems to be healthy.  He's been in on special teams for just about every kickoff by the opponent for the past two games. and has been running up and down the sidelines with some obvious agility.  Yet, after that initial play fumble against JMU he has been MIA on offense.  Is this Coach P's retribution for that fumble???  If so, enough already; it's a bit overkill by now.  If not, than what????

Good summary sbugold. Unless they get to 8 wins with a win over a top 10 team, I don’t see much playoff hope.

Kamara being out again hurt us. Can’t tell you how many times the UNH RB rolled right pass the defensive line when Sam normally would have stuffed him.

Fields has got to use the middle of the field more often, he’s made a killing on the deep sideline ball but now I think other teams are gameplanning for that and forcing him to roll right and limit his field of vision like when Anderson was wide open on the complete other side of the field but Fields was too backed up to make a throw. Also on 4th and 2 Constant had enough room to get the ball, but the throw was way off line. Not to mention I personally would have run the ball in that situation.

Thought it was a very competitive game last night, it’s too bad hardly anybody was there to watch it.  I’m surprised to see no mention of the lack of attendance.  Does Stonybrook have no fan base?  A 6:00 Saturday night game,  beautiful fall weather and a nationally ranked Stonybrook team playing a 2-0 CAA New Hampshire team.  The announced attendance of 4,900 was obviously inflated, couldn’t have been 3,000 people at the game.  Pretty embarrassing when you have a beautiful stadium and a really good football program and nobody cares.

Isaiah White has an Angle injury and even though Ty’Son Lawton looked really good he also is bothered by an Ankle injury. SBU is hoping to have Kamara back. Kyle Nunez also got banged up last night. A player that they have really missed is Finneran who broke his Wrist before the season began and has not played at all this season.

I and most of the crew were there, but you are right. The crowd was pathetic and I did not see any student fans in their section.

I di see Nunez go down but he came back in shortly thereafter.

I'd venture to say there must be at least 15 good players on this team who are either out because of injuries or battered up and not doing well

If White has an ankle injury, does it make sense to have him in on special teams, trying to track down kick returners? ??? ???

One last thing the UNH HC was diagnosed with an illness before the season began and they have dedicated the season to him. Even though they got off to a slow start they have gotten better every week

Hopefully the bye lets our guys heal up and we're at full strength when we play Villanova. As mentioned, 8-4 gets us in, 7-5 is bubble territory and we're praying. In either case we've got three ranked teams remaining, and in order to get in I estimate we'll need to get two wins over that group. If we take care of business there and don't lose to Albany I think we'll have another year of post season football ahead of us. Winning @Villanova in a couple weeks would give us the signature win we need to get to the post-season.

I saw the SBU 85-yard kickoff return v UNH that was called back due to replay-review late in Saturday night’s game. That cost us the game (IMHO).

"The Wildcats tacked on a 42-yard field goal to go up 20-14 with 5:07 to play and Jean Constant – the graduate transfer from Bryant who was twice named all-American at kick returner – took the ensuing kickoff 86 yards to inside the Wildcats 5; however UNH coach Ricky Santos saw the replay on the scoreboard and asked for a review of the play. Constant, it turned out, made a sharp cut back at the Seawolves’ 22 that caused him to slip. He tried to put his hand down to prevent his knee from touching, but game officials ruled his knee had touched. “I felt like I got my hand down but they said my knee touched, Constant said. “It’s a little disappointing. . . . Field position can change the game.”

“That was a blow,” Priore said. “I’m going to assume they were right about the replay. If the replay was wrong I’m sure we’ll get a formal apology.”
UNH forced the Seawolves to punt on that possession and the Wildcats were able to run the clock out on Stony Brook." -  Newsday

My suggestion is to NOT  show a replay of a great SBU play on the SBU scoreboard while the opposing coach can request an official video review. Is that crazy?

Because the games are now televised on SNY you will see most replays. In the past, when SB games weren't televised just streamed on the internet they didnt have replays... Thats how the cookie crumbles.

This game should not have gone down to one play to determine the outcome. SB played like crap, thats all there is to it. SB defense cant stop the run with two of their starting lineman out. The team is decimated with injuries this year..

I agree DL can’t stop the running game of opposing teams right now because of those injuries. Also we are not getting  enough of a pass rush allowing the QB more time to find open receivers and one more thing we are taking too many penalties
