Unreal. Huge conference road win against a highly ranked Nova team.

In Fields I believe.  Probably the best QB SB has ever recruited

I couldn’t stand to watch it either but they were given another chance it’s time to come up with some more game plans perhaps add some of these highly recruited freshmen we have in the games everyone seems to be using their freshmen except us and we have talent just waiting

The freshmen can play up to 4 games without losing their redshirt so Coach P has and will continue to do this

I feel bad that I missed this one, but I was out having a good time with friends. So happy I could open the ESPN app up to an SBU win. I saw the 28-10 score at the half and had more or less written this one off. Crazy. This is the exact kind of signature win we need for our playoff resume. If it ever comes down to the point where we're on the playoff bubble, this game along with playing JMU close will be the difference maker that gets us into the field. We can probably squeak in at 7-5 with this one assuming Villanova remains a top 15ish team for the rest of the season, but I'd rather be safe at 8-4 (or better).

For those who missed the game (like me), here are some great highlights.  Fields is definitely the real deal:

How old a Seawolf am I? I followed them during their Final 4 DIII hoops run in 1977-78 (they were called the Patriots then)

Wild win (about as wild as the URI win but against a stronger opponent). Our last 4 games have been VERY close.

Bracketology Breakdown

Last Four In: Central Connecticut State, Monmouth, Albany, Incarnate Word
First Five Out: The Citadel, Stony Brook, Eastern Kentucky, North Dakota, Southern Illinois

Stony Brook is the beneficiary of playing in the Colonial. Their recent road win over Villanova is big but their non-conference schedule wasn’t particularly strong.
Eastern Kentucky is in much the same boat as Stony Brook, but they have four games remaining against the top of the OVC. They could likely play their way in with a 3-1 finish.

Bids By Conference
Colonial (3): *James Madison, Villanova, Albany

Villanova is the only good win so far. The close loss to JMU won't help one bit. Seven wins and they're out. Eight wins leaves a chance. Win the rest of the way and they're in.

This is too pessimistic. We're a lock with 8 wins. At 7 we'd need to worry, but that would mean going .500 down the stretch. I think we do better than that. All in all I like our odds of post-season football so long as Villanova continues to win making this win remain a quality one. The CAA is at least a four bid playoff conference.

If Stony Brook is on the bubble of getting in . I think the close win against JMU will help. SB went up two spots in the ranking that week after they lost.
