I'm not crazy about the road game against Colgate. The schedule is already ridiculous with the CAA and the two FBS games. Topping it off with a road game at a Patriot League power seems like a bit much. I would much rather they pay an NEC team for a home game, a la CCSU last year.

I think we had a two year home/home agreement with Colgate. They came to SBU last year and we are visiting them this year in return. So not much we could do. Next year, schedule will make much more sense.

We will be playing UConn and Cincinnati in 2014.

I would have liked to see them buy out the contract. Although if we're no longer playing buffalo I care less about travelling to Colgate.

Yes.. its a shame.. I would rather drop Colgate and keep Buffalo on the schedule. I guess the schedule is still in the process of finalizing, and thats why Seawolves are taking time releasing FB schedule.

I think its a good idea to drop Buffalo.  at the end of the day, we need to get one of the auto-bids out of the CAA, or an at-large berth at worst.  So to me, the game with Colgate is a good one, a win in that game would strengthen our at-large spot later on, if we need at-large consideration.  so the focus of the first four games is to win the games against RI and Nova.  if we lighten up our schedule by dropping Buff, then I think its possible we can go 4-0 through the first four games.  One FBS win against BC will preserve the SB tradition of being able to beat FBS teams.  Lets get our feet on the ground in the CAA in 2013 and go from there.

8/31: @ Boston College (2-10)    Toss-up
9/7: @ Rhode Island (0-11)      Win
9/14:   home game ?????
9/21: @ Nova (8-4)    Toss-up
9/28: Towson (7-4)     Win
10/5:
10/12: @ Colgate (8-4)    Win
10/19:
10/26: New Hampshire (8-4)    Toss-up
11/2: @ Maine (5-6)    Win
11/9: Richmond (8-3)    Toss-up
11/16: @ James Madison (7-4)    Loss
11/23: Albany (9-2)    Win

I agree BIGFATFAN.. A little less pressure on out players dropping Buffalo now. I am glad they dropped Buffalo and not BC because BC is a much beatable team then Buffalo is. In my opinion !!!!

Fixed that for you :) We only have one win against an FBS team in our history... not much of a tradition. Two wins in a row, yes, now we are talking start of a tradition  ;D

Albany game as the last is exciting. but once again it will be thanksgiving weekend and cold! Students wont be around... that tells me it probably wont be a sellout

I don't really like the four away games to start (as I said before)... For current and future road warriors likes many of us it doesn't make a difference... But for the casual fan that we would like to attract its gets that much harder when its already four weeks into the season and cold. Oh well. Lets go Seawolves nonetheless

Disregard previous comment: just read that we replaced buffalo for a home game. Bittersweet

The Albany playoff gm in 2011 was played Thanksgiving weekend and had 7,000 plus. It was 60 degrees and one of the better tailgates I have been to. But let's wait until they post the official schedule, we might all be happy.

The Meac http://espn.go.com/ncf/conferences/standings?confId=24&year=2012

Bethune Cookman would be a GREAT game - very good program at their level (the MEAC is full scholly, but traditionally attracts NEC-level talent).

Realistically though, Delaware St I'd expect to be the team we got. Rumors always swirling that they want to go to the AEC, and they're regional enough that both teams are aware of each other.

That said - just happy it's D1. Got promises from inside sources that the D2 was to make up for losing Hofstra, and those losses are now over. NEVER AGAIN.

Bethune Cookman  was a play off team and is a good prgram.  Delaware St would  another  good choice and probably bring a following since they are relatively close. Agree 100% no more D2's please
