You are probably right. But I think next year is an FCS 12 game season if  we want it.   So maybe Colgate will be a go. Good news no D2 programs to beat up !

Priore announces in the Big South Weekly teleconference that we are playing Uconn in 2014. Was this previously known?

Just listened in on the conference call. We have UConn and Temple coming up  . The Owls are another Big   East  school.   I guess Cincy dropped us for 2014 or we backed out for local powers.  Pretty cool any way you look at it.

Is 2014 a 12 game schedule year? Perhaps we have 3?

We won't be playing 3 div 1 teams, 2 is usually the limit. If we do play 12 gms do not be suprised if they do keep a div 2 team on the schedule, it would mean an extra home game. With the two D1 road games that would leave us w/4 conf home gms and 4 road gms. Whether they play 11 or 12 gms those would probably be lesser comp teams at home. While they continue to grow the program they are going to want at least 5 or 6 home gms a year. As far as strength of schedule goes they are playing 2 D1 teams a year and 8 CAA conf gms so that is plenty, with that you need to have a few easy wins cause you can't count on winning those D1 gms.

Redwyn: Just listened to the link for the Coach's conference radio call and heard the mention of Temple. If Stony Brook plays Temple at the Linc I would definitely be able to bring 50 fans to the game, minimum.

It seems like SB football wiki page has wrong information in regard to future schedules.

2013: OOC @Boston college, @Buffalo and @Colgate. Brown's future schedule does not have us for 2013.
2014: OOC Cincinnati; Temple does not have us for next three years in their future ooc schedule. Couldn't find UConn's 2014 schedule anywhere though.

Are we playing a total of 11 or 12 games in 2013?

How will 11 members, 8 games CAA scheduling look/work?

Maybe the games got pushed back. From our understanding those games were scheduled. We'll find out in a few months

As for  the CAA schedule we should play  4 CAA teams at home. Two from the CAA North and two from the South. Same with our CAA road games two northern teams and two south. The CAA is not  naming North- South Divisions . So unofficially -
North - Stonybrook, Albany, Maine, UNH and  Rhode Island.
South- Villanova, Towson, Delaware. James  Madison, Richmond and William &  Mary.
I will try and verify that Brown game for next year

Someone wrote on another forum:

"With an 11-team CAA and keeping a 8-game conference schedule, I assume the CAA is using the old BigTen model.

Each team is assigned 2 "rivals" which would be played every year, and you would skip a pair opponents from the remaining 8 teams for a 2-year period.
"

Who could be our assigned rivals? Hopefully Albany and UNH, but most probably Albany and URI based on approximity.

Such an odd way to do it.  I actually think the new B1G model is better; split to two divisions, play your division (which in turn creates rivalries), rotate around the other side of the league.
There are 29,413,039 corporations in America; but only one Chairman of the Board.
